I'm a Newbie!

Hello everyone..not long joined this site on a recommendation. I have been very lucky to have been diagnosed with Fibro very early. I had been getting aches and pains and other fibro symptoms (though didn't know it at the time!) for probably the last 12 months with my right thigh causing me the most distress as it got to the point where I could not lay in bed on that side as I would be nearly in tears within 5 mins of laying on it! I went to my first diabetic check-up with the nurse and mentioned I was getting pains and that I was aware of neuropathy but she said it sounded like arthritis. Went to see my GP who did blood tests which were positive..had them done again and still positive so he referred me to a consultant who gave me a physical exam and took a history and furthermore diagnosed fibro. I'm waiting to hear about having a course of physio though I'm dreading the pain! I shall continue another time......

Hi and welcome from one newbie to another....there are loads of info on here and loads of us in the same boat in one way or another...its nice to have people to have a moan and groan to that actually understand what you are going through and in a selfish way there are others that are worse off than you so you are not alone.

I am a newbie to this site too and found it by accident. I did not formally introduced. I just snuck myself in. Welcome. I have found this one to be really simple too and so far very friendly, that I really like it. Let's hope we both get a lot out of the site.

Good luck with your physio. They have given up on me as I know all the exercises as been doing the same ones for over 10 years. I was referred again earlier in the year and physio said there was no point me going. Hope you get some relief out of it.

Hello and a big welcome to you too Jom, you are most welcome here in our lovely forum. You crept in through the back door, apologies if I missed you when you came in! ;)

Feel free to jump in, make yourself at home here, it's all comfy and you are amongst friends here. We all understand! :)

Enjoy your time with us Jom! :) xx

Thank you. I did creep in but have already commented on lots of questions. It seems a very good site and very easily laid out.

Am sure it will be very useful, thanks again x

A huge welcome to you both and may you find this marvelous site as useful and rewarding as \i do lots of wonderful friends in the same basket made from fibro strands. Everyone is helpful and all understand where you are coming from. It is so good to be able to talk to others in the same position as ones self I just wish none of us had to suffer as we do xgins :)

And then there is me. Yes I am loopy, I am a rock chic(in mind if not in body) and I am a Fibromite, but I tend to try and ignore the latter. So welcome to the site and I hope between us we can answer any questions you may have, listen to any rants and raves you feel are justified(and believe me they are) and basically be good fibrofriends to whom you can turn should the need arise xxxxx
