I think everyone is different and what suits one doesn't suit another. Would be very boring if we were all the same .. As for me I don't mind reading a long post or a short one .. I can't answer some however long or short cos I don't have any experience of the situation but sometimes when people are feeling really down or fed up a long rant is a good way of letting your feelings out and that's what this forum is here for. Good times and bad...

Totally agree with vg... Let it all out... The ones that can't read it, don't have to.. As long as you feel better for posting it, that's all that matters x x

I too agree with VG ~ for some people who don't have anyone else to talk to it can make the difference between coping - or not. The thing is we all have the choice about whether to actually read them, or to answer, or not! :-D xx

That will be me then lol, I'm afraid I'm a writer so I intend to write a couple of short paragraphs and end up writing an essay!

I have been in rant mode quite a bit recently - I can't help it, being a Scorpio I'm passionate. You have to remember though, that to some people, this blog is a lifeline and therefore their posts may be quite lengthy. As VG says - we are all differen and that makes life interesting. :-)

having to agree with both VG and Stormwytch. Some people have no other medium with which to express themselves and with a cronic illness there's bound to be a lot to express from time to time.

I guess if the blog is too long for you then don't read it *shrugs* (I mean that in a nice way, no bitchiness intended :))

I'm afraid im in agreement with all the above,if I feel I'm unable to read it at the time then ill just go back to it at different time of the day when I'm not so tired and i can understand it better,i would like to think that they would be there for me if I had a lot to off load, sometimes people may not want an answer, they just want to write things down a bit like a diary x

I personally think everyone is different, some people need to write long posts to pour their hearts out and that's absolutely fine, others can't pour their hearts out at all. Some people are middle ground and write a few lines and gain more from the replies. It's all fine, and it makes all the threads more interesting because people are so different.

I agree sometimes it's hard to read the longer threads, I just take two or three attempts to read it and then the penny usually drops. Sometimes my brain just won't compute too many lines. On the other hand I love it when members post memories from long ago or tell us about their childhoods and families. Sometimes things can't be said in two or three lines.

People tend to love the Blogs, it's the only company some people have during the day and they look forward to coming in here and reading them all. We are all different at the end of the day. :)

Short or long posts are all fine, we love them all! :) ;)

Yes I agree with the above bloggers theres a rich variety to the blogs on this site some are long some short, some funny, witty, clever, though provoking, sad, angry, disparing, hopefull, hopeless, informative, factual, imaginative, creative... Etc etc. but all are wrote by people living with fibro; people looking for understanding, empathy and a safe haven to share their thoughts and im privledged they choose to let me have a peek :-)

Morning Guys,

I believe that blogs can be of any length - short and sweet- longs and informative- as we all express are selves in different ways it is crucial that our blogs reflect our personalities. Sometime the longs ones take more than one visit that does not matter in the slightest, lots of us have time to visit a blog more than once. I find that the diary blogs are brilliant reflections of the writers soles and I am always in awe of their capabilities. Equally I love the poems so skillfully written for our amusement. My life has been broadened and my fibro has been diminished (even if ever so slightly) by joining into discussions on here.

So well done every one the long the short and tall ! xgins

Well it is good to communicate with others who have been through the same thing because there is a sense of belonging and not having to justify one's symptoms. I have a lovely hubby but I don't say to him each day where my pains are today, or what other bizarre things I am feeling, because I like to make his life happy so that he can support me (which he does wonderfully). I never thought I would like to belong to a group of sickies, but fibro type illnesses are different because of their invisibility to the medical world and the world in general.
