So angry....

Just had a letter from medical services as I complained about Atos turning up at my house without an appointment and can't believe the 'whitewash' letter full of lies and excuses. The health care person they sent round said he'd sent a letter with date/time of appointment, I didn't receive anything prior to the visit.....Do I ask for proof of the letter he sent, or will he just fabricate one, if I do? any advice on the next step would be gratefully received. If we lied like this, we would be fraudulent...Also he said that we didn't look surprised to see him, well did we have a choice, damned if we did, damned if we didn't. His excuse was that my husband was ready and waiting for the visit, as he had come home for lunch. If he had been bothered to read my paperwork he would have realised that my husband is at home to help me each lunchtime and has changed his shifts to help me not him. I am totally disgusted with the complaint response what a load of.....

Sorry to moan but so fed up now

Love justine x

ATOS and the truth are a mixture that is guaranteed to curdle.

I would complain to my MP in your place as this is getting quite ridiculous!

Hi poppy,

I agree with Julie!!!!

you must complain and also ask for proof of the letter as it is possible it could of gone to some one elses address. (this has happened to much of my post down to having differnt postmen because our old one went ill and had to work in office )

They do not seem to care anymore and it is sad because of all the FRAUD idiots out there .

I personally cannot understand it as what is peope gaining by wanting to be on DISABility if not disabled.. what about jsut normal benefits?!?!? am i missing something here lol

you can moan and say what you like as it is frustrating and can upset you more and you must stress that it has caused you upset too the way you have been treated even to you DR!

i wish i knwe an answer for you but i really don't but am sure that any Admin or who ever deals with things on Health unlocked will try help you .

as it is a good site for good support .

Thanks cazzzie, it's lovely of you to show your support and gives me the enthusiasm to carry on fighting, even when I'm really aching, I've decided to have a day of writing letters tomorrow and send it all off before the weekend, so it's nice and fresh on their desks for Monday lol

ATOS is a French owened company that is paid millions to save the british gov, hundreds of thousands in benefits. The CEO of ATOS has already been paid a 1 million pound bonus this year.

It's supposed to weed out the fraudsters but time will tell!

Think they need to look a bit closer to home......xx

in reply to JacqDobson

Oh my goodness and where on earth did that One million come from I wonder... ?

poppy1 in reply to tinkerfae

I think Jacqaadobson has summed them up nicely, must think of alternative words for ATOS but maybe too rude to post, lol. Saw you blog about feeling isolated and aching with a toddler in toe, really feel for you, mine are 20 and 17 now one in uni and one with pink hair, training to be a hairdresser, they still worry me sick, lol. My sister in law has a 3 year old and 3 others, she lives in France alone and feels cut off without her family, it's very hard. I think she ends up taking her son out for a walk to wear him out and then baths him early, story and bed or there would be no time for herself. That's fine when you're not aching but hard when you're in pain, just hope tomorrow is a better day for you, take care justine xx

I thought you had to request a home visit from ATOS?

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to JacqDobson

It was a surprise home visit, I didn't request it and I feel maybe this is another tactic that is used to catch people out. In my defence if my doctors report showed I was unable to attend an assessment centre, then surely the evidence speaks for itself... We will never understand their logic as ther isn't any xx

I would demand a copy of this so called letter ..proof of posting etc and state you are sending a copy of this to the DWP and your MP..do not let them win....what they are getting away with is unbelievable....

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to Benjamina

Thanks, you sound just as annoyed as me, I am on it tomorrow, probably won't make any difference but even if I can make them have to work harder for their ill earned wages, I will he, he xx

Sorry to hear of all the bother with Atos, but I wouldn't bother wasting your energy trying to fight them as an individual - you won't get anywhere. The only way to fight is politically and en masse.

Aw thanks, my husband feels the same as I get myself worked up when the brown letter appears, but I'm stubborn and I know one voice may not make a difference but I make sure I vote for all the polls we have on fibroaction too so maybe eventually we will get somewhere together...lol xx

I contacted CAB and they are going to help me to appeal.I was asked permission to use my case to add to the others so they can build evidence to present a case against ATOS

Thanks so much everyone for your support its really appreciated, I think I will write another letter asking for proof of postage etc but I'm sure if I get one, they will be typing it there and then, my husband said that he would rather do more overtime to save me going through the stress, but he has changed his shifts so he is home each lunch time to help me, so I would have to manage alone, catch 22. I refuse to drive myself mad with the situation and I'm sure liars always get caught out in the end,..... Take care everyone and wishing you a lovely day

it doesnt surprise me at all..its a conspiracy for the dwp to save money by ignoring fibro as a dissability

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to nannyjenno

I agree with you, I think there has not been enough research done by these companies and they are ignorant to how we suffer because saving money is all they are concerned about, plus the big fat bonuses they get rewarded with for failing us. Xx

yes its surprising really how much advice and support ive had.im new to using a computer,so dont really know what im doing... comming across this site has been a godsend to me because im not alone and support is there if you ask,by people who know exactly how fibro affects you,,and the stuuggles theyve had with benefits etc...let us know how you get on with your esa and i will post if my dla appeal date comes through sometime this centuary..take care..xx

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to nannyjenno

It's amazing that the people that care are always the ones who have suffered the most pain and lost the most, I am humbled by the response I've had as fibro can make you feel very isolated. I wish you all the luck in the world at your DLA appeal, mine will probably take a while longer, as they have suspended my claim as a punishment for complaining about my surprise visit, oh well will be writing them another letter tomorrow to ask what they are playing at this time, I've started to see the funny side of it all as I think if I don't laugh...'ouch'....ill cry...take care too xxx

Have the same prob. he Dr appeared at the door at 9.30 am and didn't leave till 11.30 am. He said a letter had been posted, phone calls had been made. As i was sat crying he said i had no mental health problems. You get the picture. Am facing a tribunal next week and my partner was hoping to see him there! This is preying on vulnerable women. Bullying in a word. Take it easy. I understand the injustice and you want to fight. Weigh up if the stress will be worth it. Take care. Let's make sure they can only win the battles, we'll win the war.

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to sweetiepie

I can't believe the way we have been treated, I wonder how many more of us have experienced the surprise visit, with no calls or appointments, it definitely seems to be a tactic they are using. You are welcome to inform the tribunal that you know of another case where this was used and the whole report fabricated and whitewashed, it is disgusting, I'm losing all confidence in our system, I just hope if we all speak out about our experiences with Atos and their buddies DWP maybe in the distant future we will be heard. Sorry for the rant, I'm on a roll today, wish you loads of luck sweetie pie and let your partner at 'em lol... Hugs justine xxx

can your mp do anything,if you spoke to him? Has anyone ever tried this? arnt mp"s supposed to work for the people? You could try asking your local social services for an assessment,i did so because of advice from this site and althouigh i didnt get an assessment, they put the welfare and assessment team on to me within a week..So keep trying!!!

poppy1 profile image
poppy1 in reply to nannyjenno

Thanks so much, I don't think my mp would be interested as I voted for the other party lol.... The welfare and assessment team sounds a good idea though, really appreciate your help xx

hi, been having the usual problems with esa, am totally at my wits end now, so decided enough is enough. i emailed my local councillors for my area, explained situation and am now getting some support from my councillor who is pa to my mp,who also knows my situation. this has been going on for years with esa,and ive had enough . if i dont get satisfaction, then my daughter has told me to go to newspaper, or i was thinking of human rights.. please do get in touch with your local councillor or mp, you can find there names and contact details on internet, thats what they are there for. my councillor helped me a few years ago ,again with esa, so dont be afraid to go to them as many times as you need. please, please do complain as this is totally out of hand, the way we are being treated. i also brought tape recprder, and now tape esa, atos oranyone else who wants to cause me problems,i already have esa on tape completely lying about a medical,my councillor also knows this, so maybe everyone should invest in a tape recorder,im als going to take it with me if i have to have another medical,as far as im aware as long as you inform the person your taping it is not breaking any rules,in your own home you do not have to inform., them, but if you do ,be aware you will see mr or mrs nice appear. amazing what a little machine can do. hope this gives everyone some useful help, take care. xx

poppy1 in reply to juicyluci

Aw thanks for all the info, what a good idea, have finished my letter of complaint now, the medical services didn't even spell the medic's name correctly throughout the letter. If there are inconsistencies there, what hope to we have...lol? I will look at complaining to my councillor too and thanks so much for your help, good to know we've got such good support on here, take care too xxx
