Silly cow is about right!

If only they knew what it waslike day to day living with Fibro she wouldn't have been so quick to say that! I was diagnosed at the age of 36 - am I suupposed to have aches and pains at that age! Don't let people like this upset you. Take care x
Hi - It is so hard not to feel upset by others ignorance of the condition we suffer with. They have no concept of the suffering, and even if they had it for a day or week, they wouldn't understand what it is like to have it for a lifetime. They are very lucky people not to have this hidden condition, with no really words to describe what it is like, we make do with the one's that people use everyday - and have their own point of reference for. PAIN is invisible to other, but has a huge significance to the lives of people who live with it everyday. I too get very upset and frustrated when people make comments like this. But I do know, that I am the only one who ends up worse off, so I am trying to practice meditation and mindfulness to not let it get to me. It does help. So I hope you can take the time to yourself for 10 minutes or so to just let the hurt and anger and frustration flow away. Don't let your own emotions hurt you any more today. The person that said those things is of no consequence and isn't giving it any more thought. I hope you can put the words she said and the awful emotions that go along with it in the river and let them wash away. xx soft hugs xx
Hi there i would suggest going over her head and reporting her for what she said! That is not called for ...AND.....ANY age can suffer pain here there and everywhere !!
Some body who works for such a place should know how to speak to customers.
Do not be upset by her comments though as words can be hurtful sometimes but you have to ignore it as Your Dr and everyone who knows you knows that you have pain!
Would we all like to give this to some one else for one day or a life time and in my book (paedophiles fit the category) since i am a mum of 4 and that is where i would love my suffering to go to lol
Perhaps some one else lol and some one else. you call her what you want xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxhuggles to you xxxx
thanks every1 i am ok now & sammy 38 dea is a disability employment advisor she just what a lot of people think about this fibro
Doesnt it make you flaming mad when that happens. Drives me bonkers not just a few pains hear and there. Hugs xx
I am begining to think that everytime we go for an appointment we should take a print out of the NHS website on Fibromyalgia, with no NICE guidelines in place it is the best, and most official tool we have.
Many conditions do have NICE guidelines but still the medical profession can be a bit fuzzy eg with CFS/ME; I've given the NHS pages for CFS/ME to my doctor when he was being a wimp over doing anything.

i got ask once was it the new ME so i said it FIBROMYALGIA LOL
Fibromyalgia Awareness is improving but we have so far to go! So many GP's haven't a clue about Fibro and all it entails, how much we suffer every day! I agree with SootyB, pain here and there would be a luxury instead of all over our bodies! Dear me some people hey!
I am not sure with the DWP woman's comments that I would have dealt with it as calmly as you did Evie, it gets exhausting just explaining sometimes doesn't it. I accept that not everyone is aware but I would've thought that the DWP had some idea about Fibromyalgia these days!
libertyZ believe me i did not take so calmly i wanted to hit her & cry at the same time but i didn't just cried when i got home got 2go back 2day to sign on
Oh I'm so sorry for you and so angry at the same time I was 23or 24 when I was diagnosed and we have others even younger on here people in thes jobs shoule hace trainging in bedside maner ander be taught the basics of what we go through every day she is so full of bull sh1t she could start her own manure business, hope things go better netx visit sorry. For any spellig misteaks ame stuckk in bed with only my BlackBerry to go on net with plus in agony, ah well sutch is life maybe she will find herself in you plce onne day, luuuuuuuv Sithy
Hi to all of you and sorry u had a person who had no idea about this condition... all i can say nobody can feel what we go through unless they have fms its horrible and with all this worry with changing the benefits, we are all stressed out and more in pain i wished they would spend a week with me to see how we cope.... its a horrible and all that goes with it aswell as the pain.....
Well I was diagnosed at 26 and I would be flabberghasted if I was told it down to my age back then. I think when we see these people we should provide them with the printed literature on the first visit and then go back another day xxxxx
I started with pains in my knees at the age of 10, and have been specialists since the age of 18, i am now 40. I've actually said to many specialists, that by the time they get their fingers out and find a diagnosis they'll say what do you expect at your age!!!!! lol
