Yes I do - ive had it for about 4 years, it comes and goes and sometimes i cant walk at all, ive had an ultrasound scan and nothing is showing, ive given up going to the doctor about it, she said it was probably grumbling appendix (im sure i read somewhere grumbling appendix doesnt exist!!!) its probably another symptom of FM that we just have to live with!

Thanks Bernie, i have given up going to the doctors too, because they never have the answers! What an earth has a grumbling appendix got to do with groin pain?? The mind boggles.

Could be a pelvis or hip problem....just a slight tilt could cause it. Worth seeing a Bowen practitioner. I'm sure they could help.

Thanks Cat, i know i have already got osteoarthritis in my one hip so i suppose that could be the problem?

I get terrible groin pain when I try to walk too far. It was this pain (added to all the others I was complaining about) that pointed my GP towards the Fibromyalgia diagnosis. If I don't overdo it, it only aches a little bit, but should I decide to go walking in the sunshine - I need to get a bus back home by which time I am in agony, it then usually takes 2-3 days to settle down again

Thanks Maladjusted, thats exactly what happens to me, the longer i am on my feet the worse it gets, it feels like the muscle in my groin is going to go twang if u know what i mean.

Yes I get it as well, mine started about 5 years ago as I work as a nurse

I thought that it was lifting had all the tests and nothing there , changed my job

Still nurse but not so much lifting anyway about two years saw a specialist

And was told I had fibro now I have pain every where, the pain in my groin

Is still there never goes some times it is better than other times, I think maybe

I already had a wellness there because of my job and fibro just goes there a

support that's just a quess I don't suppose that is the reason at all just this

Funny fibro we have.

Hi,I had really bad pain in lower back and hips and pelvis also the whole area was very hot and red i was in agony even in the slightest movement.I was sent for an x ray which showed arthritis and degenerative wear and tear, the burning and redness is down to fibro that's the conclusion i was given. So maybe you should request an x ray?.Hope this helps and p.s i was self employed which i have now given up on as i have difficulty walking, bending, lifting and carrying i have just been put into esa support group. X

Thanks Jolow, i think i might have to ask for an xray, i can't keep going on like this. I still work full time and am finding it really hard going as i too can't walk lift bend or carry very much, but i can't afford to give it up, catch 22 i think.

I sometimes get a pain where I feel as if I have been kicked in the entire area covered by a sanitary towel. It comes from nowhere lurks for a day or so and then switches off again! Stupid Fibro :-(

Generally, if the pain extends into the groin, it's hip-joint pain; if it stays to the outside of the hip area, then it's more likely to be bursitis or soft tissue. However, it's worth getting any pains like this checked out via your GP, as we all have a tendency to put all aches and pains down to fibro, when it may be an unrelated condition that could be treated.

Hi Paulamac

I have an inguinal Hernia which is pressing into the groin and causing me the most horrific burning/aching pain and when it rears its ugly head I have to find somewhere to lie down, I went to see a specialist at the hospital who is going to do a colonoscopy to see if there is any reason why I have this hernia, this consultant has told me that he can repair the hernia but the pain may not go away, he knows that I have Fibro and has told me that some of his past fibro patients have all said that the pain stays the same so I can only conclude that your groin pain is Fibro related, I have had Fibromyalgia for 8 years and tried almost all pain medication in that time, the only medication that seems to help me to dampen this burning and aching is Gabapentin, my dose is 1000mg 3 times a day I go for the colonoscopy next week so I suppose I will be put on a wating list for the hernia, once this is done I will post back and tell you if the pain is gone or not. I have pain in the groin area and then it goes to the hip when I walk at a mall. Apparently I tilt my hips from side to side and throw everything off. Went to PT and she is helping me with exercise. I read you have osteoarthritis and patina in a lot of places. Well I had pain everywhere, but not anymore. Turns out these pains were due to gluten. Autoimmune disorders are often triggered by the procuring cause of gluten sensitivity. No one knows what kind of bacteria in ones stomach will make a person sick. I have been going to docs for years. My endo told me to get off of it for six weeks. I mean completely off it, such as soy sauce, and everything else that has gluten in it. Do it for six weeks My pains went away, as soon as I had gluten again, I couldn't walk cuz my hip went out. My body swells because of it. Best of luck
