As long as they're platform wedges I can wear those, I need the ball of my foot cushioning and just a thin sole can be torture. I had to give up my tower heels though, that really upset me as I love them. I've kept them in my wardrobe for one day, maybe. ;)

I know what you mean LibertyznI have also kept my favourate pair for the maybe future, got to haven't we keep up hope and positiverty xx

I cant wear wedges, any sort of shoe with a heel or on the other scale ballerinas (too flat), ever since breaking my foot a few years ago and had to have a bone graft during the operation and a screw in it, but my health is more important I know, (and comfort) xx

Thank you tess I must look them up, usually wear trainers, or crocs at home or Clarks shoes or sandles, nothing else, probably could do with a few more I guess soon, but I'm ok, if fibro would just take a holiday now! xx, thank's for your answer xxx gentle hugs xxx

I had to give up heels too and i am small, so i tried wedges and yes i can walk in them i just hope it lasts.

good luck, hugs, kel xxxxx

hi do not talkto me about heels lol they are a no no for me i can wear a wedge heel though as long as they are not stupidly high and yes i find them comfortable but as for pin heels mmm i dont think so lol

i hope you find a pair that suits you love diddle x

Hi all. I have wedge boots and they are lovely. I think it is because the whole of the sole is on the ground, where as heals are more unstable. I now find anything too high hurts the ball of my foot.

Silly auto spell that should say

Hugs to all xxx

Wedges spread the pressure, so your feet don't take a walloping on the balls of your feet or on your heels. I also try to wear shoes with anti-shock heels, I pay a fair bit more for them but they are fashionable and comfy too. I can wear their shoe boots and my feet don't suffer either. :)

hi! wedges seem to be the way forward for me. i went out on sat to a posh restaurant and needed heels with my dress. i wore some 4 inch high wedges which i was a little worried about, but they were fab!

(did kick my shoes off under the table though - but i always do!)

xx

platform wedges are great for my bad back and fybro and m.e

Hi tess 10

Yes I too have had to give up heels, can only wear wedges as long as they are no more than 21/2 inch high, also prefer a thick sole if I can get them and if open toed (for summer) they have to be soft leather around my toes, I have to buy wide fitting as my feet are wide, but I cannot walk very far at a time as I have several other health problems besides Fibromyalgia

hope this helps xx

Thanks everyone I think I may just start looking for some wedges that are a good make but better on the feet smiles and hugs xx

I still wear heels but just lower. I would a wider pair more comfortable but still struggle with balance and kick them off when I can!! Might try a wedge myself!!

All I can wear nowadays is walking boots! I have very weak ankles and boots help support the ankles. My physio approves. Need some sparkly ones for evening wear, though! LOL!

Cheers, Midori

Ohhh yes ! I adore my wedges!!!

Was out shopping with hubby one day and put them on with summer dress but could not walk without holding onto him i would go over and walk like john wayne too.

Its happened alll so recently iver months .

Devastated as i am 5ft 1 and love extra height as in my job i wear flats day in day out, so was a shock when put them on and felt unsafe!!!

:-( :-( xxxxx

I must admit, I don't brave heels very much these days - I tend to wear Birkenstocks in the summer, and Emu/Bearpaw sheepskin boots in winter. I do find wedges about the best, though, as long as the soles are thick - a cork-based sole is good, too, as cork tends to offer more shock-absorption.

I do pine for my heels. To the point that I've just bought these ...

I'll never walk far in them, but aren't they pretty?

They're gorgeous Sara! I love them! :)

I have one pair of ridiculous tower heels with zips up the back that hubby bought me just for me to look at - I asked him for them so I could keep them to swoon over. It doesn't make me sad just looking at them, I am just so pleased they're mine! :)

arrhhh Sara they are gorgeous, I am the same as others have kept one pair of my fav shoes, I so miss my heels, but I have to say when out today I was looking around but could not find wedges that were my style, so if anyone has suggestions where to find funky ones please do let me know smiles and hugs xx

It's Uggs, Fitflops and Crocs for me. Without the cushioning my feet hurt like hell.

I used to do hairdressing in high heels every day, couldn't wear them at all now.

I used to wear 5" heels to uni every day, on and off 2 buses each way and up 8 flights of stairs to the lecture theatre! God knows how I'd cope if I tried that now! xx
