ooo you are lucky. the guy i saw looked at me as though i was to be pitied when i mentioned fibro fog and put it down as `probably vasculer considering past medical history`I have had a brain hemorage and a stroke, but the neurologist and rhumatologist put it down to fibro.

Seeing a different doctor in June and taking info on fibro fog with me.

Good luck with the new therapy.

Hi mayrose54, this doctor was young so I guess she's more aware of our condition,as for the older ones they are simply out of touch ha ha, hope your well xxxx

in reply to George1973

He was young and i was furious, but have learnt to keep my gob shut.

The more you argue the point the more condecending they get. "oh poor you thinking that its fibro. but i am a doctor and i know better"

Sorry for the rant i needed that. :P :P

Oh yes, understand :-) May I join you in an empathetic healthy foot-stomping so you may soonest enjoy camping with your daughter in the no. 2 choice tent you found. Soonest be. :-)

in reply to RockRose

just waiting for the weather. We dont want to try out a new tent in the rain. There will be a lot of lets try that over there and do you think it would be better here.

there will be zips on windows and air vent to try out and generally make sure that it is all working as it should. Cant do that in the rain.

:O

To be honest I can help thinking that 99% or Dr's just fumble through the day making guesses that they call a diagnosis based on their experience of life and somehow we are to except it as FACT just because they studied for 5 years. My Dr was baffled by symptoms I was having and sent me to a consultant who looked at me confidently and said "there is nothing wrong",,, "so why am I in so much pain with my stomach, oesophagus and throat,,, why do I have this constant cough,,, why is my lungs crackling when I lie down ,,, why when I cough dose it taste of blood,,, why"? His response I can order an ODG (camera down the throat) I'm still waiting that was January; apparently there is a 30 week waiting list. In the meantime a friend who is coeliac suggested that as a possibility

I am now living on steamed veg no grains except rice,, no sauces or additives and no dairy. I am literally terrified to step out into a wider diet at the moment.

Things have settled down somewhat from starting this ,, but of what use is our medical system if this is typical,,, I asked my Dr how she could be sure it was not oesophageal cancer and she said "I'm not"

Now if we were able to bash politicians and bankers for friends I really would have something to say!

And all the adverts having been telling people to go to their GP if they've had a cough for three weeks or longer and then you are popped on a 30 week waiting list.........great move !!! 😳😳😳

What I really don't understand is is why on earth your doctor didn't fast track you having said she's not sure it's not oesophageal cancer - to my very simple mind she has a duty of care and at that point she should have acted. Have you thought of taking it any higher in the practice?? If, heaven forbid, it does turn out to be serious then ........ I'm sorry, I'm lost for words ggrrrrrr .....

Gentle, positive and soothing vibes coming your way 😀😀

Foggy x

I think that because I had seen a Next to God Consultant and it was he who had ordered the ODG there was nothing that the GP could do to override the consultants decision.

Drs nowadays don't really care I was at my dr last wk and asked her about blueish marks on my arm that have appeared they look like bruises she took a look and said I don't know ! Great went to my diabetic clinic and asked again and he did tell me

what it was but unfortunately I can't remember the name lol

But he didn't look as if it was anything to worry about so I'm not.

Have I got this right that your brain haemorrhage and stroke were put down to fibro or did you mean the fog? My memory and other cognitive skills went down the pan after my stroke and now got fibro fog on top so can't win!!

in reply to panda60

Sorry to confuse you. my brain haemorage was unconected to fibro a long time before i started to get symptoms.

The stoke was a mini stroke brought on by an infection that caused my BP to go through the roof weakening a blood vessel and is only connected to fibro in that the infection also triggered a flair. Something that puzzled the doctors. they could not work out why a minor infection could make me so ill. Since being diagnosed with fibro it now makes sense.

What the mental health doctor did was put down fibro fog as being caused by the hemor-whatever or the stroke, i couldnt convince him that i had fully recovered from both.

The fibro fog started about mid way between the illnesses at about the time that i had to have a thoracotomy to clean out my lung after a bout of pnuemonia.

now ive managed to confuse myself :) and blow the spelling, i give up

My Gp is not very well up on fibro but at least he listens to me and will send me for refferals if he is not sure. he also goes along with my `suggestions` when it comes to medication.

It could be a lot worse for me.

I am sorry that you are struggling to get a diagnosis and treatment. wishing you all the best and hope that all goes well

Hugs sue.
