I dont know what you call it but the tips of my fingers feel like they have like sand on them, even if I touch a smooth surface it feels gritty. I think its coming and going, but not sure cos it could just be I am thinking about it more. It is driving me nuts!

Hi Nanatre

For me yes strange numb sensations all over are very normal symptoms. I would say if only in finger tips and you want some relief try warm moving water. The sensation may disappear whilst they are in it. I use a foot spa. When you realise the sensation is not there, try and remember what it feels like without it. Focus on that numb free zone and hopefully you may help your nerve signals to retrain. Not sure if it will help, but it works for me and I have 75% bee sting/snowburn across my body which feels like sore/numb tingles 24/7 unless im in right temerature moving water.

Good luck on killing the numb tingles

:) warm thoughts NN

may I please say thank you to Nordicnavajo, who explained on this page yesterday how she experiences "bee stings" all over her body. I've been dithering about whether i should mention it to my GP, or would he think I'm weird? and/or, is it some kind of hallucination? This burny/tingling feeling has been driving me bonkers! It keeps me awake at night, first scratching, then having a cool shower cos I've hurt myself by scratching. Now I feel that I haven't quite totally "lost it" Sorry to hijack your question, nanartre, but I'm so happy i'm not the only one! I hope you get yourself some help. Your GP might feel it's worth doing a nerve conduction test, which measures the sensitivity, or lack of sensitivity for a number of different conditions. Good luck to you. chrissietosh x
