HI, i hope you dont mind me asking but who did you have to see for them to give you crutches? walking is one thing i struggle with greatly (touch wood had a good couple of days) but when i am very bad i have to support myself on whatever is around me, in the house its easier as my furniture is positioned so i can walk around and hold on to it but outside the home it is very difficult. i mentioned this to my doctor and a specialist but both seemed to kind of dismiss the fact i needed help and just told me to carry on the pain killers.
hope this helps. most nhs dps have a number for physio that you can call and self refer they then decide what you need. Also my consultant advised that elbow crutches are better than sticks as they give more support
