Yes!!! and lactose/dairy!! It took months and months of various exclusion tests to find it out. I'm not coeliac so can't get gluten free on prescription even though it causes me severe pain. I'm not sure if it's gluten or wheat that causes me bother so exclude both where I can but it's extremely hard work, especially when eating out or at friends houses. I found I can tolerate lactose free products so thankfully it's not a dairy allergy. I often end up just eating normal food though and suffering later on as a result because it's such a faff.

Me too! I am not well with dairy...but its more headaches, allergies ( sores in nose, loss of voice and asthma and sinuses) and general increased fatigue. I also proved negative to coeliac but then because I was already off the gluten we knew it would not show as the antibodies are only prevalent when gluten is take for more than six weeks...we didnt want to go there. I cant eat rye either ( worse than wheat even) and so I dont risk barley...I cant eat oats not even the Nairn which isnt cross grained...

Maryland University is currently doing research and thin Gluten sensitivity is a seperate disorder and believe they have a genetic link.

I definitely have more headaches when I eat more wheat-based foods. I also feel really bloated and uncomfortable too and more tired too.

"Research published in the "World Journal of Gastroenterology" states that diseases of the digestive system, like inflammatory bowel disease, produce musculoskeletal complications. This research suggests a link between digestive conditions and rheumatic diseases. This means that gluten intolerance not only shares symptoms similar to fibromyalgia but that there may be a common link. Because of this link, the research published in the "British Medical Journal" states that patients with Fibromyalgia should be screened for gluten intolerance and that doctors should suggest the patient switch to a gluten-free diet to help relieve symptoms."

Thankyou, I will check the BMJ out. It was sad that I kind of found out by accident about my intolerance to gluten...my sister and SDA is into naturopathy advise me I could rid myself of allergies by getting wheat out of my diet...and by accident I noticed pain levels reduced, if I ate it they shot up...now two years on if I make a mistake I react very badly indeed, and now it isnt just pain..it goes right through me which really proves it is a gluten intoleance but GPs wont prescribe to us only to Coeliacs .

Thank you all very interesting, I to find that if I eat bread I feel

Worse .

Thank you Libby that is very, interesting

Yes to wheat and gluten, although not an allergy and intollerance. Have found I feel better on a low carb diet and if I do eat wheat along with more pain I wake the next morning with all the symptons of a hangover and none of the fun.

In desperation to lose weight ( weight watchers seems to penalise gluten free foods on its propoints), I found I lost 3 1/2 stone on WW but only one inch of my hips and no where else...then it stuck fast for 18 months, even when I switched to vegan...and my belly gets bigger...so I am doing Dukan diet...this is my third day of attack phase, my body doesnt like the dairy and I have headaches and sinuse pain and jsut feel yuk...but I am pushing through to just try and get rid of the belly that refuses to go ( scan revealed nothing so no cysts)...I looke eight months pregnant. Hate fibro, hate the meds I use to be a UK size 8 ( US 4) now i am a UK 18 ( US 16)
