Yes! They ask you questions to see what kind of job you should be looking for. Ask what you do with your day, do you have any hobbies, is there anything you cannot do. I made a total fool out of myself on my interview I cried like a baby all the way through it.

Its not just you, they are making us all go in.

Good luck hun xx

Went to one with my husband a couple of weeks ago and the lady at the Job Centre was actually quite nice. She could see the state his hands were in with arthritis and after a chat she said she wouldn't be asking him to attend anything unless he felt he was able to go.

I don't know why she kept talking to me about him, but hubby was quite happy letting me answer the questions she was asking about his health etc. Wonder if it was something to do with my mentioning that he's recently had some blood tests for his memory problems!

They make you struggle up 3 flights of stairs coz theres no lift, ignore the note on your file that says "Must be seen downstairs as she has disabilities", so you dont get seen at all and get noted as a no-show, (Really? someone at the job centre cant do their job properly??!!) even tho you were there waiting uncomfortably for half an hour. you insist on seeing SOMEONE TODAY or you wont get your JSA, resulting in so much frustration and discomfort you burst into tears (yes nanatre, me too). you go home thinking what an utter shambles that was and try to shift the stress headache you now have, for the next few days. But well done to the people who had a good experience.Im glad someone did.x

I had to go a few months ago and cried for days before hand. I arrived and was so nervous and they asked if i required the lift which was nice as i really wasn't looking forward to the stairs and tend to feel lazy asking! Which i know is silly! lol I was then escorted to the lift and met at the top. The woman i saw could see how much pain i was in on the day as when i got up i clicked so loud and i could hardly walk!! She was really kind and even went and opened the door for me from the other end of the office lol! She just asked what type of jobs i would do and stuff like that. It was really relaxing and she was a lovely woman. I hear a lot of negative things about the job centre being rude etc but I felt welcomed and not anxious at all :) xxx

My appeal has been going on for over a year now and i lost all my incapacity benifit ( however i have never received incapacity for epilepsy)

These things are a bit of a joke as i know a lot of people in the benefits offices, it will all depend if you not only get a sympathetic ear ( unlikely) but how bad your epilepsy is; they will then say you are ok for light work; whatever that is?

You are then in the job market, no matter that no one hires epileptics ( you try and find the stats of people working); i have been at this thirty years unemployed and i am an ex computer operator and i have tried every thing cleaning stacking shelves etc with no luck ; it's a bit like being a one legged man at a football match ; one no wants you on their team. ( no offence to one legged people)

One of the tests was to lift up an empty cardboard box, another was if i turned up at the interview i was fit, but if i did not then my appeal failed. (i'am affaid it's a bit of a kangeroo court - they just want to stop benifits )

However i may be proved wrong, so be careful what you say and always but always give your worst day as a reference to the DHSS. GOOOOD LUCK
