Ive been on Gabapentin for 3 weeks now increasing the dose from one a day to the 3 Im on now (300mg) My feet are very swollen and hurt when I walk (Its not the hot weather because this started before) I am overweight but swollen feet is not something I normally suffer with, any ideas?

Yes gabapentin does cause fluid retention. But flare ups tend to bloat me too. WHen I was on gabapention I noticed the higher the dose the more bloated I was.

My feet are the same, I'm on gabapentin but didn't make the connection, so that makes sense. I have always had slight fluid retention, but recently it has worsened significantly, will talk to my GP about it, iI feel for you because it's horrible and slows us down even more!

thnks for replies, Ive done some research on here and it seems this swelling can be a side effect of the Gabapentin :-( well Ive had no pain relief from Gabapentin and my feet are like balloons and are painfull so I think I may be talking to my GP about trying something else. xx
