Face pain and slight numbness after having a wisdom tooth out in febuary this year. Doctor said nuralgia........dentist said it is something going on further up, what ever that means.....not sure whether its fm too? im 51 tooth was really deep and long root too, felt like my head was bieng pulled off....

Hello omshanti, poor you, i know from experience how miserable you must feel ! I haave had trigeminal neuralgia on and off over the years and my GP does think its linked to my fibro, then earlier this year I ended up with my dentist say i'd got TMJ (shan't try and spell out the whole thing cos its a bit comlicated for a bear with little brain like me)
Whatever the cos, facial pain is horrid and i send you gentle hugs, muchly dottii x

No, not for the TN - that was dx by my GP years and years ago and the TMJ is a recent discovery as I think I mentioned, by my dentist, I was in for a filling and told her some things which had been happening and she told me to open my mouth, which promptly went "clunk" at which point she said TMJ and handed me literature to take home and read. Having read it it certainly seemed to fit many of my feelings, but then sometimes I just wonder if I am just hyper-sensitive to everything or even imagining the whole thing ! Hey ho...... i still send gentle hugs your way and if I can help any further do please yell.......at least my hearing is good
