Hello Gailbt, so sorry to hear you are struggling. Have you seen your GP or Consultant abour your pain as it's been quite a long time. It sounds like you need an examination to assess exactly what's causing it.

Don't worry at this stage about needing a walking stick, the first thing you need to do is to get it checked out and take it from there. I hope it goes well for you, take care! :)

Hi Gailbt , it sounds similar to me the pain that you have been having although i dont have it in my groin. I have been limping aroung for months and felt as if at times i slap my left leg down as they feel really heavy at times. I get a lot of pain in my hips and they feel as if im in a vice and it just keeps getting tighter. I have told my doc about this loads of times but hes not bothered!!!!!! I asked for a stick the other month as i do struggle with my walking but he doesnt want me to have one as he doesnt want my muscles to waist incase i get used to it (which i can see his piont to a degree), even though i feel as if i need it and need extra support.

You are not alone but please speak to your doc.

Take care

Hey JoJo, Been to 2 doctors at my surgery but they just keep giving me pills so I know of another doctor who has been very good with other fibro sufferers so going to see him about getting referred to the hospital. I've got rheumatoid arthritis too but it's not that kind of pain, this feels like the volume gets turned up on the pain then down again but it never goes away, just varies in intensity. I feel because I'm trying to keep the weight off my right hip that my left hip is going to suffer so not wanting this to go on much longer. Just taken 2 Tramadol and 2 Amitriptyline in the hope that I get some quality sleep tonight. xx

Hi, I feel like that too at times that my walking is going to make my hips worse.

How did you sleep last night?

Hi JoJo, I slept not too bad last night, taking an extra Tramadol took the edge off my pain so think I may take 2 at a time all day until I get my pain clinic referral.

I get this a lot, I had an MRI scan and I have inflamed facet joints. I think that you should see a GP and ask to be referred to somebody who will organise a scan. Not everything is fibromyalgia, at least its worth a try. Good luck, feeling for you, Cazx

Nothing wrong with sticks !!! Fought against using one for ages till a friend of mine gave me one !!! Would'nt be without it now...lol xx But I put up with terrible pain in my shoulder for a long time putting it down to fibro and it wasn't. I needed surgery on it for calcific tendonitis. As my G.P. said dont assume everything is related to fibro.

Totally agree with you siver52, I feel that sometimes we are all too quick to blame things on fibro.

Hello

As every one says it may be unrelated to the fibro, I can tell you

That I have the same in my left, and into my groin it got so bad that

I thought it was my job, as I am a nurse thought that I needed a new

Hip went to hospital, had every test and they found nothing

Changed my job did not realy make much difference, doctor did

Not want to know as nothing was found, that was two, years ago

Still, have the pain worse some times than others.

I have now been to a specialist and been told that it is fibro

He told me some people get it worse in some places than

Others.

That does not mean that for you it is fibro go,to your

GP and get it checked
