Possible appendicitis or just more fibro pain...

So I'm in agony very specifically in my lower right abdomen, I've had it before and never assumed anything severe as I assumed appendicitis was always sudden. I read this evening that apparently that's not the case, so I'm gonna leave it to the morning then maybe go docs. I was going go emergency room earlier but.decided against it as I felt embarrassed last time I went for.my heart and.nothing was wrong.

I love this forum btw, I check it every morning and every evening on my smart phone and though I rarely comment or post, I feel a part of the community as I follow what is happening in everyone's lives. I doubt the main people know who I am but I feel I know them personally lol.

Hello and welcome cxs957, lovely to see you here in our forum. :)

If you're in agony I would suggest that you see your Doctor to have this checked as soon as possible. It's always best to check sudden pains especially if you have experienced this pain before. Even if it isn't anything significant, you will be reassured. Please let us know how you get on. :)

Thank you for your lovely words about our forum, we are so pleased you feel part of our community. We hope you enjoy being here for a long time. Take care! :) :)

Thanks, I have posted many times before but there tends to be a long break between then. I shall probably go and wait for a nurse tomorrow at my gp but my friend is up for the week and I feel so bad, I'm so boring. compared to the rest of her life.

Nice to see you back again. I think we've chatted before. I remember you being at Uni and one of our younger members. As you have said, I think you should go to the docs.

I second what Libby says about the forum. I love it too and I'm only on it so much because I'm stuck in the house so much.

Do please go to the doctors. I've felt embarassed after panicking about something but not enough to take risks with my health.

Christine :)

Hello cxs957, sorry you are in so much pain, but I do encourage you to seek advice - I had exactly the same exerience in March and having spent a ghastly night on my own, unable to find any comfortable position I was marched off to my GP (I of course thought he would just put it down to the fibro), but he did two small pressure tests on my tummy and sent me off to hospital immediately, where I had my appendix out the following day. If you do feel worse during the night do please ring for an ambulance, the op is so much smaller if the appendics has not ruptured, which it can do. Sending gentle hugs and prayers your way, muchly Dottii x

Thank you for your advice. beforehand I've always put it down to constipation but this time I only went to the toilet yesterday so I'm never usually in this.much pain. fingers crossed.

A few months ago I had terrible pain in my lower left hand side of my abdomen it went on for five weeks and included an overnight stay in hospital. I had all sorts of things suggested, infection, diverticulitis, appendicitis, ibs. It stopped eventually but I notice it starts to come back if I ever get over stressed. A few days before it started I had an incredibly stressful day and my doc thinks that as I have ibs it was an acute attack of that. I've never known anything like it!!! Hope yours clears soon and get yourself seen by the doc or nurse!!

I have already been diagnosed with IBS, but the pain tends to be different than this pain. I've got a doctors appointment as my boyfriend doesn't want me to leave it any longer.

hey I'm ok. posted a blog called update which explains what happened today x

If you suspect appendicitis you should call your Dr out. I had it and a young GP came out and diagnosed a urine infection! I was in far too much pain for it to be that. A couple of days later I managed to get to my Dr's and he could feel the lump on the right hand side. He admitted me to hospital and they reckoned by the CT scan that it had burst and left a mass lump....that would have to be removed at some point. You don't forget pain like that...call your dr or go to A&E x
