Some days, my whole body is taken over by pain in every joint and muscles, I call it my stick insect days as I feel thats how I move lol.
Mainly, for me its the spine, pelvis and neck..........
If you are getting predictable regional or localised pain, suspect that the cause is not the central Fibro. Pains caused by the central processing issues with Fibro tend to be all over or random or jump. Predictable regional or localised pain in people with Fibro is often caused by something going along with the Fibro, even if it actually a symptom of Fibro. E.g. Myofascial Pain is a common symptom with Fibro, but it is also a condition in its own right (in the same way IBS is both a symptom of Fibro and a condition in its own right) and requires slightly different treatment - stretches, specialist massage, physiotherapy, muscle relaxants and maybe injections.
Pinning down exactly what is causing each symptom (ie. having not just an accurate diagnosis, but a comprehensive one) is crucial to targeting treatments. And targeted treatments work so much better!
Hi Rosehip, my whole body! I do have a history of neck injuries so if I am totally honest I would say my neck and shoulders. Have just been diagnosed with a shoulder impingement where the tendon or fluid sack is pinched in the joint. I am waiting for physio at the moment. I thought it was just my Fibro and left it for 6 weeks so I am glad that I went to the Dr in the end! I think our neck and shoulders do take a beating as if we are stressed it tends to go to that point in a lot of people. Hope you get some relief soon x
My whole body hurts all the time, sometimes worse in the neck, somtimes worse in the shoulders. It seems to migrate and settle for a day or two then its off again. It is very unpredictable. I have bursitis in the hips, elbows and shoulders too.
All over general pain, but if I had to say parts that bother me most it would be my shoulders, hands and legs
