Hello Sevs26, I personally don't get twitching in my hands but I do have weakness sometimes, especially with my grip. I also have Osteoarthritis as well as Fibro so I'm sure it's something to do with this. We all have so many different but comparable symptoms all over our bodies, it's hard to determine what's what sometimes isn't it. Take care. :) :)

Thanks for answering x

My hands have been getting increasingly worse, and I notice most when I try to open jars, peel vegetables or sometimes even trying to get food from fork to mouth .

Twitches I get all over , a while ago I had one in me eye and kept winking at the postman , poor man looked really startled !

Hugs

xx

Hi Sev26,

I get twitches/jerks, and weakness in different places- but a lot of it is in my hands. Its weird as it happens mostlywhen I'm hungry or lying in the bath- where my hands are especially shakey. But it can happen anytime. Including when I'm in bed. I get a twitch in either my ring finger or little finger, on the outer edge of hand, or between my thumb and index finger. Its really strange. Another thing, its worst when I'm stressed. I can even be having an uncomfortable thought and a twitch will just come on ?

Weakness is usually in my arms but it spreads to my hands. Sometimes I struggle with writing things down and feel I have to force my wrist to move, a real effort, rather than natural. The weakness is occasionally accompanied with tinglying or numbness, though I haven't had this in a while.

Does anyone else struggle generally with their hand writing and make mistakes when typing ? I know I do.

Hope everyones okay.

Soft gentle hugs.

Hi Sev26, yes I get the same sort of thing but it can be anywhere, and any time, but worse when resting. I also have rls, and the meds for that (premipexole ) has helped calm things down. good luck caz

Hi Sev26, Yeah, I get the weakness and twitching in my hands. I often get numb fingers (one of my little fingers is numb most of the time. I also get pins and needles in both hands.

They seem to shake and twitch more if i'm really tired (which is most of the time) lol.

It seems to be a problem with many fib's. Hugs- charles x

Thanks Charles..... beginning to get the feeling that its just another thing to add to the ever growing long list of things that fibro affects...xx

My hands get a lot of pain and numbness/weakness and going cold & blue. No twitching in the hands though (elsewhere - but not the hands!) . The fibro gets to almost every part of the body doesn't it. I think I'm better off beginning to count the parts it HASN't affected!!!! lol. My ears, eyes, nose, chin :)

Hope you all feel better soon, take care Sev26 xx

hi there - i get really bad shakes especially when tired, sometimes to the point where people stare and make fun of me. my only advice is to not eat peas when youre really shaky - makes my kids howl with laughter - which of course is the best medicine! Good old fibro xx

Hi, I dont get the twitching but i have suffered with the feeling that my hands are swollen and they go really weak and i lose my grip since my fm started years ago but the docs dont seem to really care and arent bothered about it. It really gets to me though as at times my partner has to cut my food up for me as i cant even hold my knife which is embarassing if im out for dinner!!!!!

Thanks Jo.... I get that also but the weird feeling is new so just wondered about it..... Hard to know what is fibro and what is not!!! You should never be embarassed by the way..... It is what it is and we deal with stuff the best way we can..... Rose x

Hi sev26, I sometimes get terrible pain in my hands and often when I wake my hands or just one hand forms like a claw, and I have to uncurl the hand which is not easy. When my hands go into spasms I try and keep them warm and use neoprene gloves which are very good.

I had a doppler test on them last year as rheumatoid arthiritus was thought was the reaon, but it wasn't thankfully

Yes, i havent been too worried about it until medical test today. I had hand grip measured and it was only 2.6 in right hand and 3.1 in left hand...charts say it should be at least 20 for my age. Have you had your hand grip measured?
