lally i have the same problem plus im allergic to gabapentin, pregablin, ammitry...

so i can only use tramadol, diazipam flurbiprofen, co-codymol in between cos the tramadol can give me headaches and i keep the doses topped up so at least the pain doesn'r always get to the worst level, if you find abything in the meen time i'd be greatfull if you would let me know. the only extra thing i do use is heat pads no medicated and the warmth does help with certain joint pain but obviously not totally and not for long

hi there, i now take morphine on a daily basis, it takes the edge off the pain but the downfall is that you have to keep upping the dose as and when it stops working for you. soft hugs DEBBIE XX

I think that might be my next step, I have had it by iv when I gave birth to my youngest and was allegic to it

How are you doing with pinning down your diagnoses? I know a while back you were talking about possibly having other conditions alongside Fibro.

Accurate & comprehensive diagnosis is critical to managing Fibro. The people who have the most trouble with symptom control are usually those with other health conditions (whether diagnosed or not) that are also out of control.

What other than meds are you doing/having done to help manage symptoms? The optimum management of Fibro usually requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Some doctors (e.g. FibroAction PAB member Dr Andrew Holman) have also found that they can get medications to work better in their Fibro patients by, e.g. managing Positional Cervical Cord Compression through physiotherapy.

Morphine is not a recommended treatment for Fibro. Plus if you are allergic to it, that probably rules it out anyway.

I think you've said before you didn't get on with tramadol lally as that what I take as a painkiller. I think if you can't take that the next stop is morphine. A friend of mine in London gets something else in patch form and it works for him although he uses oromorph for breakthrough pain. I can ask him if you like. Lot more painkiller choices in America but that doesn't do us a lot of good. Sorry you're sufferring so much.
