i have fbyro, osteo arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, my memory is very bad and minutes after i have been told something i forget, do other people get this, im 43 and feel like im 83, sometimes i feel like im getting dementia and find it very scary that i can forget something so quick, i have started writing things down but then find i forget to look at the list, i feel quite alone sometimes as if im the only person this is happening too,any tips and help would be very much appreciated,

Hello, give yourself a hug, you definately are NOT alone!

Sad as it is, I also have awful memory, it follows no pattern just like the rest of Fibro. I leave tea towels on the cooker top, not a good idea with a hob that has recently been used! I have quite a collection of singed towels now, and saddest of all, one of my daughters had to remind me that she had been assulted recently and was just back from visiting the police. I asked her pleasantly if she'd had a good time out, when she came home!

So I know what you mean about dementia.

Oddly I can remember that ginko is supposed to be good for memory, but I have yet to remember to get some, despite post it notes in every room of the house!

thanks to you both for those lovely words, luckily i have a great bf who is understanding and patiently explains things to me more than once, i feel like having a notebook on a rope around my neck to write things down, hope your daughter is ok pottydog xx

Fibro fog is horrible but we laugh at it in this house, I mix words up look at a object and call it something else, forget dates and appointments and leave things to burn, last week the iron was on for days how we lived god only knows !

But we laugh at me and my dyslexic son who texts some great things..

I'm dyslexic too Penny, along with the fibro and eye cancer it all makes for hilarious eye tests!

Perhaps we should all have a burnt tea towel gallery, alternative bunting......,or would that be burnting?!!

Hi all I also have probs with memory I've 4 got 2 lock my doors when I go bed prob is I live alone I've also left cooker on my words/writing get all mixed up my 6yr old grandaughter has started 2 finish my sentances when she notices I'm struggling I haste this thing we have it robbed my kids of a lot of their childhood & me a lot of my younger yrs Gentle hugs & 2u all xxx

hi welcome to the mad world of FMS fun we do get worse from stress i am also dyslexic but to can you use your mobile ?

I send myself texts

alarms and notes .. as well as postet notes antthing to help xx

I look at words sometimes i go blank in a house full of dyslexics that is fun gentle dyslexic hugs

My memory has got a lot worse over the last months i can be mid sentance and people are waiting for me to finish but i cant remember what i was talking about, but i do remember to turn the plugs off ..... even the one the fridge is plugged into whoops

ou yeah, i keep telling everyone i am getting alzhiemers, just took me 2 mins to rememver thet word. i really get depressed about it sometimes but i try to laugh it off in front of other people. you are not alone, and its nice to know i am not alone either. hugs xxxxxx

im laughing cos in relation to the texts to self. i do this but sometimes predictive texts just get the better of me. i put a reminder in about driving lessons for a friends son called arran. i looked later and wondered who 'satan' was and why would he want driving lessons!!
