I too was suffering lots of pain behind my right eye and my optician said we have muscles behind our eyes that are affected by fm . He sold me some drops for dry eyes as this also occurs , but now i get them on prescription from my gp , they seem to help x

medication that you are on can affect your eye sight, i have fybromyalgia, osteo arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis and have been on meds for 23 yrs approx, and i am short sighted and am finding my eyesight is declining very fast, my optician has told me it is meds that does it, i have dry eyes too and that is a symptom of arthritis so ask your doctor, you can get drops from the doctor or chemist for dry eye, hope this helps motherhen52 xx

I suffer with dry eyes too, can sting like mad and send me a bit round the bend! I use prescribed eye gel, it's longer lasting than the drops. I would still get checked by your optician, it might be uncomfortable for some but still worth it for the reassurance.

Hi motherhen, it seems 2 b common problem. I suffer from dry gritty eyes and my eyesight has gone down rapidly in last 2 yrs. I had eye check-up May 2010 and my eyes were perfect, by Sept everything was getting blurry and thought it was just tiredness but went back 2 my optician and explained what was happening. They discovered cataracts on both eyes but 1 on left was developing so fast (he said he'd never seen it happen so quickly in any1 but said meds had big part in it) I had cataract removed from my left eye last April, thankfully 1 on my right eye isn't growing as fast. I thought I was far 2 young 2 have cataracts as Im 45 (my parents dont even have sign of cataract yet).
