Hi Mamina yes I get these & they can be very unpleasant. My worse ones are at night when it seems as if my whole body does jerk in different directions, it feels like I'm leaping off the bed, it can be so violent at times that I shout out & wake up. Love & huggles xx

Hi Bubblebutt

Mine come on if I sit down to relax as I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS) I tend to just fall asleep. This is when I get these strange twitches. I get frightened by the tummy ones as it seems as though my whole inside suddenly leaps as if my insides will hit my chest. I also shout in panic because this is something beyond my control. I also just nod off whilst sitting on the computer or I get jolted to wake up as i hear the sound of the computer hit the wall because I will have knocked it as I fall onto the table. I think it is important that we all talk to each other but I would aldo add on that we need to move on keep our minds busy and amaze the world as we beat the odds against us.

Cheers

Hey Mamina:),

Yeah, I get this a lot sometimes, mostly when I'm under stress, it's very frustrating isn't it? Usually happens in bed, where my arm with suddenly move upwards of its own accord. Sometimes I will get twitches in my ring & little finger, usually accompanied by a pins & needles sensation on that side of my hand.

If I'm particulatly stressed-out, I get a nervous tick in my eyebrow. This strange sensation can spread, so some evenings, my whole face will come out in a mild spasm (this is less frequent tho, and I can usually control the facial movements- it will just feel uncomfortable). I also get other various muscle twitches, which go unnoticed. Another weird symptom: a sudden stingy spot on my skin, (kinda feels like being poked with the end of a flame) - which makes me flinch in shock, is more recent and has only ever happened at night time.

I attribute this as part of the fibro, but don't understand what causes it. Its at its worse when I'm anxious and usually can be managed for me. But if you have trouble coping I suggest speaking to your GP because it can be a right pain !

Gentle hugs, wanderingwallflower xx

Hi there Funkyfairy

Thank you for an enlightening reply. I have been tolod that if this happens I should sleep for a long time but this is not possible as I am studying with the Open University on a parttime basis. I do not sleep enough at times due to reading and assignments. I have had a very good response from the forum members again echoing the same that my symptoms are similar to many people. Thank you very much.. Take good care of your self, eat well and rest a lot.

Hey, no probs.:) Its seems to be a common problem, but its good to know at least we're not alone. Thanks as well for the supportive message - always good to hear from people. :)

Best of luck with your studies. Just wondered if they knew about your fibro ? They'd probs take it into consideration, and provide some extra help. Its not good to lose out on sleep- especially if its aggravating your symptoms. Don't know much about how the OU works but its just a thought- don't let yourself suffer anymore than neccessary. Make sure you get enough rest and be kind to yourself (don't let yourself get too stressed-really do think it contributes).

You take care now and hope you feel better soon- and thanks again. :) Gentle hugs, wanderingwallflower xx

Hi Funkyfairy

Thanks for all the infor, I have been assessed by the Assessor and will be getting my support and equipment delivered in a week's time. I have been depriving myself of sleep but once I put my head on my pillow i am out for not less than 10 hrs minimum. I definitely pay my dews or else. I am hopeful that once all is in place I will surely and slowly get into gear and reap a bit of harvest. I 'm glad I came across this site where support is abundant and heartfelt by co-sufferers.

Cheers, smiles and hugs.

Hey Funkyfairy,

I have just realised that I have been under a lot of stress lately and have twitched more. It is better through since I started on quinine tablets. Thanks for shaaaring about the stress factor, I am also an axcious person which does not help. I am working on both these so that I mmight minimise these twitches.

Hey Mamina,

No probo ! :) I am glad I can be of help- and glad you are feeling better. Best of luck with your studies too, I am confident you will do well & get lots out of it. I'm currently doing alevels & hope to get to uni next September. :)

I am v. anxious person as well ! Worry about things as small as not shutting the door properly when leaving the house ! But getting lots of sleep makes things a lot easier to deal with. Glad you're sleeping better too. Things got a little on top of me lately but I am feeling better now. This community is really helpful and I love hearing from others on here. :)

Take care & gentle hugs, wanderingwallflower xx

Hi Chris

Yes, it is amazing how many people have fibromyalgia yet the doctors tell us that there is nothing they can done. Our bodies continue to fall apart right infront of our eyes. I think that anything that they cannot diagnose just has to be given a name. I will surely go to the GP to discuss the latest issue.
