Try daily magnesium. Works for me

Are you taking a high dose of magnesium also what form is it as some are more absorbed and therefore more potent than others which together with some of your serotonin medication could cause the twitching due to serotonin overload

You could add tyrosine to your suppliment this would boost your dopamine levels

I may be barking up the wrong tree but I am sure it's due to your medication and suppliments

I know it is disturbing at first to get twitches but you get used to it and hopefully you can eliminate it when you have found out what's causing it

Just to recap I think you have too much serotonin in your system

But I could be wrong

u could be right, i do take a lot of magnesium, so i ve stopped it for a day, today bit better. also i was on high dulaxtine 100, and 20 amitriptyline at night! this could be a conflict, however, i had this body twitches in the past! at that time i was not taking any antidepressants meds, but i was taking magnesium! this is bit interesting. many thanks.

Dulaxtine is promoting serotonin so that and the magnesium which is also inhibitory could be causing it

Have you changed your diet recently? I got a lot of muscle twitching after I started an elimination diet so I told my doctor, who did blood tests and found I had dangerously low levels of phosphate, and was sent to hospital for further tests. It was quickly fixed with phosphate supplements. I guess I’m just saying it might be worth mentioning to your doctor.

Have you changed or increased your medications recently? Have you started supplements? There could be a number of causes the best person to see is your GP. Any new symptom should be investigated.

I also suffer with muscle twitches etc. and I find that magnesium does help, I take it t night as that is when the muscle twitches are worse. I get mine from healthspan.

Hi MR-T212, I’m an expert on muscle spasms, after failed spinal surgery I had spasms daily and just wanted to die. I know this sounds dramatic but it’s true. I suffer from many health problems and I’m on Fentanyl patches, pregablin and liquid morphine... all these drugs are killing me!!!

My Neurologist didn’t believe me when l said I’m having spasms, he said he had never heard of this happening after surgery. My carer checked on line and she found many people who suffer from spasms.

I suffered for over 5 years, my GP was excellent and tried to help me but nothing worked.

I then met a lady who said Battlefield Aricular Acupuncture

could help as it’s instant pain relief.

It’s used on the Battlefield in the war zone.

I had it done and l went from 9-10 to 2-3 in my pain and spasms.

Sometimes it lasts for a week and other times it lasts for a few weeks to a month. I look at it like this, my medicines don’t work as well as the Battlefield, it’s not a cure, it’s a relief. It doesn’t work for everyone but for me I’ve never looked back.

Please try it, it’s not expensive, £30-£40 depending where you live,

if it works for you it will change your life. My body was so tired from my contortions/spasms l was so depressed. I cope better, yes there is room for improvement but

I know I’ve been a million times worse. Good luck, l wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do. Oh by the way some doctors surgeries do Acupuncture but not all do Battlefield, it’s worth asking.💐

Wow I’m so pleased you have found a therapy which helps you. I too suffer painful muscle spasms and very annoying twitching. I tried acupuncture in the past but couldn’t tolerate it. I have manual trigger point release it helps but very short lived.

I’ve realised nothing will cure me but trial and error of therapies I am able to find some relief.

All the best to you

Hi Braveheart,

I know it’s difficult to cope with pain, I’m not saying Battlefield Acupuncture keeps me pain free but when my pain gets to a certain point l book for another treatment to bring my pain down to a level that l can cope with. I’m fortunate it works for me. I also tried traditional Acupuncture before trying the Battlefield, l had a lovely Chinese lady, but after several attempts I gave up, it didn’t work. It was a friend of mine who was having traditional Acupuncture at her home when l went to see her that the Acupuncturist said to me had l tried Battlefield Acupuncture.

I told her I’d never heard of it, she explained and gave me a free trial.

I couldn’t believe how it changed my life in 5 minutes!!! Sadly like I said in my earlier post it doesn’t last but it does give relief and I now smile and my carer has seen a different me, we go out for drives in the countryside, it’s wonderful.

Please try it, it could put a smile on your face😃

Hi MR-212,

My muscle spasms are due to nerve damage. Battlefield Acupuncture is done in your ears using tiny gold arrow heads and/or a electronic stimulator. Thank God it works for me and many other people too.

I still think it’s worth a go.

Best of luck in finding what’s right for you.
