Oh no not only do we have to put up with constant pain and exhaustion. Gabapentin makes you gain weight even though I feel sick all the time and dont eat much.

Hugs hun - I know how you feel.

I've put on over a stone in the last year and hate the way my body is going. I'm currently having counselling to help with the depression and am hoping this is going to help.

Am really feeling for you. I'm very overweight but managed to lose a fair old bit while working. After I stopped working, it crept back on. I didnt go on HRT because of weight gain issues. I'm now on high doses of Gabapentin and Amitrip, as well as other stuff, and the weight has piled on at a fair old pace. It really sucks grrr. We can either choose to sit and starve, or eat and move but with horrid pain consequences - life really ain't fair!

Me too everyone, weight it's such a pain as well as the physical pain we feel, I have a number of pills, gabapentin being 1 of them amitriptylene, mst, diazepam, efexor, simvastatin, singulaire, and over the last 13 months there has not been 1 month where I have not had steroids or antibiotics and steroids are well known for gaining weight so here it is, I have also stopped smoking, pills fill me up and I eat very little mostly a bar of chocolate and rich tea biscuits (shocking) I have gained 5 stones in the last 2 years due to above and inactivity due to severe all over pain. Waiting to go for medical for this new ESA and I also need to go ahead with DLA AGAIN as I keep getting refused, I'm worse now than ever and I'm sure it's the weight gain but no matter what I do it will not come off :( .

Advice welcome xx

Sound like there sould be a fat Fibro club, I wonder if there is any alternative to Gabapentin other than pain. I joined weight watechers last week and lost 3.5 pounds but it is much slower than others. Hey ho will carry on.
