I've been AWOL! Strep A is not nice.....

Well, it's been about a week since I was last online. I've had strep A and it's been awful, I had my tonsils out 2 years ago and have had no problems since, until Tuesday night....I woke up Wednesday unable to swallow, my throat kept closing up and was covered in white patches. Then came the fever and the nausea :( not good.

Was at the Dr's on Thursday anyway, and she took 2 swabs, one for thrush and one for strep A. She called me on Friday to say I had strep A. But the thrush one wasn't back yet so could have both. She gave me industrial strength antibiotics and I've just got to hope it clears. I'm feeling a little better now, I can speak rather than whisper...although eating still hurts after a few mouthfuls and I can now say with some certainty that tramadol is rubbish! It is supposed to help with the fibro, it didn't even help take the throat pain away. So when I'm recovered from the strep I'm gonna go and see what else they can give me...which actually works. I've been reliant on my morphine the past few days.

Anyway......I've got two mock exams next week so I've got a weekend full of revision to do. One exam in psychology and one in English. I've also got to call the Dr's on Monday to see if my Dr's notes are ready so I can have extra time in the exams...fibro fog drives me insane.

On a brighter note, I got an email from uni and they were advertising a pre-degree course, takes 2-4 weeks to complete and it's done online. So I've signed up for it and start on 31st May :) I'm pretty sure it's the same as we've done in study skills on the Access Course but it doesn't harm to make sure. It's worth 10 credits at Level 4 so gotta be worth a go :) it'll give me something to take my mind off exams :)

We aren't going on holiday next week now. The friend we were staying with is having some family complications, and it wouldn't be fair to descend on her. So we are planning some days out and some fun that way. We haven't told the girls yet because there is still a chance that she will be sorted and we can still go....we will see.

Well I'm going to go, the computer doesn't like all this writing and I have work to do. Bye for now :)

Thanks Lexie.

What do you take for pain? My plan is to do a degree and then my PGCE but if for any reason I can't do my teacher training I'm just going to keep learning and hopefully become a scholar.
