If you have been put into the support group for ESA first off that is brilliant. The other group is the Work Related Activity Group which you are allow for a maximum of 1 year now as the rules have recently changed.
I was in the WRAG group but have now been put into the support group, if you google ESA support group it will tell you all about it. I have never been called to the job centre for an interview but from what I have heard the people that do them are quite sympathetic. I think you can also ask for a phone interview if you are not able to attend the job centre location.
Dont get too stressed about it, it will all become clear to you as time goes by. Love Angela xx
Hi, just to add to Ang comment, dont be afraid to get up and move around during your interview if your able to, even take someone with you for help and support.I always do if I have to attend any thing
Hugs poppy xx
deeplydipppy, dont be afraid to say if your in pain&take someone with you, hugs xx
I think they have called you because they are obliged to offer to help you in case you would like to work.
Hopefully you will be told that you are under no obligation to attend work-focused interviews.
This is what happened to me. best of luck x
is it normal to be called for an interview at the Job Centre once the put you in the Support Group?
I am waiting for a decision after my assessment. I have received a copy of the Doctors report, ESA85A, and i am wondering how long the DWP will take to make their decision, but I thought they only called you back if you get put in the WRAG. I live 15 miles away from JC so its really impractical to keep getting there with no transport. They agreed to pay a milage allowance to my OH to go for the assessment, will they do that to go to the job centre too? I think it's next door to where the medical assessment centre is, but I can't find any more info re helping for those costs….. has anyone else? thanks xxx
