I am off to a circuit training class tonight, I go regularly. It hurts like hell the next day and sometimes during class but it is worth it. I am trying to keep fit and active for longer and I think it helps. I know everybody can't manage this. If you could see me you would laugh...I make up my own exercises all the way around as I cannot do things like press-ups...when everybody else runs I walk with my stick, when they lay on the floor I lean on the wall!! But I still work up a sweat so its a good thing! I recommend some small amounts of activity if you can manage it. I have heard that hoovering is good..but as that counts as housework I'm not doing it!!
keeping active.: I am off to a circuit... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
keeping active.
Sounds brilliant fibrodude!
Good for you for doing that. Housework is also a brilliant way of exercising, how do you mean you're not doing it??? lol
I need to do more exercise. Well, I need to do some exercise actually....... I feel fat (I'm nicely rounded :)) and extremely unfit.
Sue
I'm nicely rounded too! Watched far to many Jamie Oliver shows! OK so I do housework when I desperately need to...but I get my partner to do it more!!! I think it would hurt to bend down and plug the hoover in...that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!
Haha, i hate housework too lol.
You gave me a right good picture of you in my head lol, I have never been able to press ups and always thhought i was weird. I just wish i had half as much energy as you.
Good luck and thanx for cheering me up, i am too shattered to do anything but will think of you lol xxxxxx

Love your comments on the housework I am on strike and not doing any today lol I admire your determination and you have motivated me to do a bit more exercise. I need to get out of the house more and it is a good excuse not to have to do any housework anyway ha ha.
keep going and keep everything moving that's the key apart from the hoover he he.
Thanks for making me laugh as they say laughter is the best medicine and it is true x
It is true, laughing is great! Laughing at ourselves is even funnier, especially if we beat someone else to it! Have a great evening all of you!
I believe in little and kinda often on the housework front - and try to delegate hoovering to my 14yr old daughter - as you may imagine, this goes down extremely well, aside from the moaning and huffing and puffing! I have to say fibrodude, I admire your courage and imagination ... good for you. I agree that exercise does help loads - and I walk everyday at the moment. Your approach has inspired me!
Best wishes S*S*
Im missing a trick...I forgot to have kids with whom I could've given housework too...shame!! (not really) I am glad you feel inspired, sometimes it takes a lot to get us up and moving...I know...as it takes me a few espressos and a kick in the behind from my partner!
I suddenly had a thought...if you all come back to me tomorrow aching after exercise I am in deep trouble right? oh dear...oops!
good for you !!! you go for it girl i have got a lovely vision of you leaning against a wall lol sorry not laughing at you but with you but i love that you go and give it your all thats the main thig love diddle x
Thanks Diddle, I do spend the whole time laughing at myself...and then laughing at the trainer who tries to get me to do more...not gonna happen!
Ilike your style, go for it!! lol anne xx
Oh that is sooooo funny Sue! That really did make me laugh out loud! All those tips on housework...I will pass them to my partner. On a more poignant note...I have just got back from circuit training...it was as expected...hilarious and entertaining for most seeing me doddle around the hall with me stick...but I did break out in a sweat...good thing! I can really feel the muscles hurting already and I know I will feel them overnight and in the morning...but on the other hand I have now earned a bit of chocolate!!! yum!!
Well done! I also do "gentle exercise" classes which include circuit training. Even though it hurts, I enjoy it. Even though I can't keep up, I enjoy it. Even though I go into a major flare up after every class, I wouldn't want to give it up.
I'm talking about an "exercise on referral" scheme for people with all sorts of health problems. If you're interested, ask your GP if he or she could refer you to such a scheme. People in wheelchairs and people on oxygen have been known to take part. There are people who can run and people who can barely walk.
Housework, for me is an unpleasant chore. I get a lot more out of going to these classes than trying to get myself motivated with a duster.
