Are you like me and have difficulty with clothes. I cannot wear anything to heavy, tight or to pressing, i.e. on the shoulders. I often have to take my bra off in the evening even though I have wide straps. Can't bear anything high in the neck either.
Very important to try before you buy I have found in shops

hi no i must say i havent come across that yet lol its bound to happen isnt it but no i dont find any clothes hurt me , bless you
Have you tried the aha Bra, or genie bra if u have larger bangers these bras, tops can be double up for extra support, no cutting in with the straps and supposed to be so comfortable and better than bras with cutting straps.
Yes I have trouble with clothes. I have to wear things with elastin in. No buttons and zips. I went to see a cognitive therapist last year and was disgusted with her attitude. I told her about needing to wear soft comfortable elasticated clothes and she looked at me and said, "is that really necessary?". Needless to say I did not go back to see her again after that. I have had Fibro for 12 years and my life now bears no resemblance to the life I had before. This is also the first site I have joined.
hi yes like you my bra becomes unbearable to wear in the evening and its sometimes so unbearable to reach around and unfasten it , its not the straps though its anything tight around my diaphragm,
Oh yes out of the window goes high end fasion........ comfort, comfort, comfort all the way... elasticated waists where possible and comfortable shoes that feel like slippers!!!!!
yes i do to... as i have big mamma's lol.. bra kills me.. i sometimes have to change my clothes 2 or 3 times a day.. one for the uncomfortable items and also cause sometimes i am freezing and sometimes i am hot.... i am 49 yrs old. but feel 79, and that is not just on the clothes front lol
Oh I am the same, My bras kill me too, Have big mammas too lol....... , first thing to come off, when I get in LOL. x x
I think bras have to be the most uncomfortable things with Fibro. I can't bear them next to my skin, so have to wear a thin camisole with my bra over the top, it feel crazy, but anything for comfort lol! Even worn this way, I still fidget with the underband as it cuts into my ribcage. There is no way I am going anywhere without my trusty bra, I would feel completely starkers lol! But with a camisole it makes it bearable! Incidentally I tried one of the bras suggested in an earlier post, it made no difference at all, still cut into my ribs with the underband.
PLEASE ALSO SEE THE MESSAGE ENTITLED "ALLODYNIA" AS THIS EXPLAINS THE SENSITIVITIES WE MAY FEEL WITH CLOTHES, TEMPERATURE AND TOUCH ETC - thanks folks!
just discovered genie bras and they are brilliant. if you are a bigger busted lady like me (34F) make sure you get the ones with the pads. OK so you wouldn't wear them on a posh night out (if any of you have the energy that is) but they are so comfy and no hooks to do up, just ordered some Comfort bras from ebay which look like the same thing. The sizing is a bit alarming Medium is a 10, Large is a 12, XL is a 14, 2xl is a 16 and 3xl is an 18 and 4xl is a 20 so they sound excessive but it is important you order the right size to ensure maximum comfort. I find the underband tends to roll up but I think that is more my fat midriffs fault than the bra but it still doesn't deter from the comfort aspect as long as the size is right. I rarely spent a whole day in a bra due to the discomfort and cannot stand anything too tight, my whole body seems to be one big tender spot as opposed to the tender point test for FM but I love my new bras x
