Clothes or no clothes?

Had to give in and go to Dr yesterday, pain in my back was excruciating! Cannot even bear to have clothes against it. I have picked up a virus, not hard as work in a school, the said virus had made the nerve endings in my back very very sensitive. He has upped my Gabapentin until better. Anybody else suffer with this? Would not wish it on my worst enemy. At work so think I had better stickto clothes today.

Hi nipper sorry your not feeling good at the moment and I hope the upped medication helps. I must admit whenever I have a virus or anything wrong with me, my back pain is always worse. I think anything that makes us slightly more immobile sets back off and the nerves becoming more sensitive, that's what I have always thought and my doctor has said the same, to up my pregablin and it does help. I'm the same and can't bare anything touching me.

Sorry you have to work feeling like that but yes I think you should definitely keep your clothes on lol.

Peace, luv n light

Hi nipper Sorry to hear about your itching, yes, it does drive you mad doesn't it.

Fibromyalgia has a lot to answer for. I hope you feel better soon,

I do think you need to wear clothes today, not only for the children and staff but also you will be freezing!

Yea, I don't think stripping in a school would bea good idea. :)

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I think o have had that on my arms before. It is quite horrible. I think my just eventually went away, I don't think there is any reason for it, unless there is some compressed nerve or something that is causing it that we just don't know about.

Hopefully you can find some super baggy clothes that make you feel naked without exposing more than you want.

Sorry I wasn't more help.

I hope you feel better soon. ××

Agree totally with you about this type of back pain. Would not wish it on my worse enemy! Interesting about the diagnose of virus! Just a few weeks ago my back hurt so BAD I could hardly move! Between my shoulder blades close to the spine, spread out on both sides, excruciating to have any thing touch. The skin was sore to touch, as well! Over years have had similar, but never this bad. Often felt it was a virus because when I have had Flu my back (spine) has been affected! Saw doctor this time (during my 4th knee injection) and she said cold packs(BURR), be sure to take all my gabapentin( most of the time I do not take the full prescribed dose) and rub back with the Blue Emu(IT'S joint pain cream) Oh Yes and rest! REST! LOL! Back is better, but still sensitive! Sending wishes your back will feel better quickly. Gentle hugs.

this must be so expensive for you too,, it's bad enough having this because of a virus, but to have it all the time must be horrendous. I feel your pain. X

I can totally commiserate with the clothes conundrum but naked is not a good look in this weather as chilblaims aren't the best of fashion accessories, lol.

No seriously all my best, Jim Jams etc are bought a size larger as my skin can sometimes be so painful anything touching that thoracic area makes every one ever ending feel like it is on high alert. Any virus and this feeling seems to go into overdrive.

Hope that the increased dose of Gabapentin helps.x

Hi nipper

I really am so genuinely sorry to read this and it is not something that I have personally experienced. I sincerely hope that you feel better soon, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I've had to wear clothes at least two sizes too big ever since I started having fibro. It just hurts too bad to have anything up close to me. I'm sorry you're going through this!

I live in pjs. All I can't cope with. I just buy bottoms that look like they're just soft trousers. Then have a range of tshirts so I look more like I'm dressed. I buy sweatshirts that are 4xl - 6xl size and cut them shorter in the body and the arms, and trim the neck up so it's still stitched but the ribby edge has gone. Big, soft, loose, does look a big like I'm in an 80s dance movie hahaha, but it works for me.

Being a gal n all, I wear soft shirt bras so basically I'm 24/7 in the same gear. Saves the pain caused from getting dressed and undressed, and if I have to go out to the docs say, I can go straight from the bed to the car!!

It works for me. My family and close mates know I'm in my pjs but to the rest of the world I appear dressed. It's dreadful I know, but adapt we must I guess.

I do put on real clothes sometimes haha! Just don't tell me Mam, she'd be horrified if she realised I was at her house in the clothes I'd slept in!!!😀😀😀

your reply has made me smile and chuckle this morning thank you. Poor you, to live like that all the time must be soul destroying. I am lucky in that I still work and this is the first time I have experienced this type of pain, for those of you that live with it day in and day out have my sympathy and respect!

I have had fm for a number of years now but it was never widely spoke about as it is now and I'm truly grateful for it. To know you are not alone or think you are going mad 😠 is a blessing..

gentle hugs to you all. Xxx
