My nails haven't lifted as yet, but I have noticed different sensations in them and there are lines running through them which I have never had before!!!
Gentle hugs x x x Sue
hi no i am afraid i dont have that but i will tell you a little about me and my nails lol
up to last October my nails were 3" long from the base of the nail bed up i have had long nails sinc e i was 16 (30 years) i used to have a oatin go f acrylic put on the top to help to stregthen them and i would always have them painted beautifully in fact everywhere i wenrt people would comment on them i was known in the town for my long nails !!!
but in O ctober i jus could not keep doing them any more they used to ake me about 2 hours to file shape and polish and i just didnt have the strenghth to keep doing them so one dy i just got the nail clippers and cut them all off and i mean short
i also done the same with my hair too a week later i have got long straight hair and i could sit on it it was so long but it hurt my arms to keep brushing it and tying it up so i wen to a hairdressers and had it cut off ( well as much as she would she refuswed to cut too muchm ) buy i went back a week later it is now on my bra srap and so much easier to handle for me so yet another thing i have lost due to fibro !!
i do hope that you get your nails sorted out it may pay you to go to the health shop they may ahve something in there which could help buy i would go to see your GP first love to you diddle xx
same as you with nails and hair was long but hubby could not put up so had long then that short it was croped to ny neck. and i hate it
when in work i would tell the kidds don't act up or i will have to restrain you and then i may snap a nail . and then i will gett very upset
never worked every time but it did some of the time
god i hat this shit
i know i now been thinking about all the designs i used to have o my nails i used to go to a chinese girl she would put the most intricate patterns on my nails about every 5/8 weeks i used to have them red/pink and at halloween i would go have them painted black with things on them in gold or silver and i would go to the door dressed as a witch with black eyeliner on and black lipstick i think the kids were scared out of their lives bless them oh well those days are gone snatched away by fibro thanks fibro !!! love to you diddle x
Hi Kath, my nails are weak and ridgy but not like you describe. think you should visit GP and check its not a fungal infection or something that may need proper treatment. They shoudn't be painful either. Love Angela xx
Hi. It could be something to do with fibro but it could also be a side effect of any meds you are on. I have gel nails done every 4 weeks so I don't have to look at my own nails. Sometime they just don't work and my lovely nail lady ( who has just been told she has mild fibro) said it could be to do with the meds I am on. It is also the same for hair. It can become brittle or due or colour may not take properly. Your doctor will be able to tell you.
Hi. My nails dont lift, but there are ridges in my thumbnails. That was one of my first symptoms of Fibro. Its quite unsightly, they look dirty and I cant paint them because it gets stuck in the ridges when I take it off and then they look dirtier!! My hair has become quite thin too (I wish my body would!!) Fibro symptoms can be really strange
