I was prescribed Robaxin a long time ago for back pain, before I had fibro. It worked very well. But when I was diagnosed with fibro I asked my GP for it and he said no, coz its a poison. Shame really as it is a good muxcle relaxant. xx

silver iv been on robaxin for approx 3 years with no probs and my gp doesnt have a problem prescribing it for me xx

Robaxin is also known as Methocarbamol. I am prescribed this medication only to take when I cannot cope with the level of my pain. I take 2 x 750mg tablets and can take this dose up to four times in a day. I find them invaluable, my Consultant initially prescribed these tablets for me and now my GP is happy to give me repeat prescriptions for them. I haven't heard that it's a poison before, I find it relaxes my muscles and eases my pain when it's really bad. To be honest it's a comfort for me knowing I can take it when I really can't manage and I only use it in what I consider to be emergencies when nothing else helps. :)

Surely if it was a poison it wouldn't be licensed?? I've been taking it for about 2 years on a recommendation from my pain clinic consultant who also does 10 trigger point injections every 4 months. He highly recommends it but not many of the medical profession have heard of this drug, I find it works for me
