Some alternative therapies and ways of thinking....
Haha. It does look like I'm on a roll. i am just a massive believer in alternative therapies and think everyone should try some of them as through experience they can help. Like your accupuncture.
My only wonder is if people know about these therapies, hence me copying the links!!
Night sweeite xx
Well i will give anything a go at the end of the day it may make a tint y bit of difference or it may not make any but at least its worh a go xx love to you diddle x
Thanks for the link Rach, I'll read that later. I'm interested in alternative therapy and I'm seeing a lady at the moment who does the Emmett Technique - though I really don't think it's working so may have to ask her to try something else.
I'm going to try and see my doctor this morning, about my eye, it's swollen and itchy and looks like I've got a black eye. I could see the nurse but I want to throw in a couple of questions about the fibro too.
Sue xx
Morning, oh god that sounds awful, have you knocked it or do you think it's an infection?? Hope you can get it sorted, let us know how you get on xx
Don't know Rach, it's probably a stye but I haven't had one since I was little and I just want to get it check out in case it is some kind of infection.
I will let you know. Got an appointment at 11:25 - with my own lovely doctor!!!

hi what is emmett techniquie sorry being ignorant never heard of this ? love diddle x
Take a look at this link and your question will be answered...
xx
I don't think it's working Rach, I've been 3 times now and I'm no different, well, maybe for a day or two after but it's £35 a session and I can't afford to keep going if it isn't working. Debbie (therapist) says it usually works the first time. Not with me it hasn't, typical lol. xx
Sorry to hear that....do you think you might stop going. it's so annoying that we have to pay for our own therapies when it is recognised in the medical world that alternative therapies will help us. It all comes down to money doesn't it.
In China for example, they provide alternative therapies on thier equivalent of the NHS. maybe we should all move to China!!!
I have never had the Emmett technique, however I have had a little chinese man give me a massage over my clothing and using trigger points to release pain and he was amazing!!! It cost me £45 a session though, so I had to stop!!!
Hope your apt with the Dr goes ok and i'm sure it will only be something small wrong with your eye...fingers crossed xx
Morning....that is amazing to hear. I am so happy that you have found something that works for you. The only downside is the cost each session I guess as it's not cheap.
Do you have Eastern Acupuncture, rather than the westernised?
I have had both and I have to say the eastern was way more effective. I think there might be some research on FibroAction about eastern acupuncture. Results from research shows that Eastern is far more beneficial.
I have the western style at the hospital on the NHS, it was awful!! they made me sit on the side of the bed and then stuck the needles in. They count them in and at the end they count them out to make sure they have them all. Then an egg timer is set for 20 minutes and the nurse takes the needles out. To begin with I couldn't sit unsupported for 20 mins and then on occassions they would only take out 7 needles and I would tell them that 8 went it......!!!! A sham
Can laugh at it now!!!!!
Reflexology is similar to acupuncture as it lets your energy flow and releases unwanted toxins from your body. However the down side is that after every session I feel awful. So not sure about it for me in the long run!!
Hope you managed to get some sleep xxx
I've gone 3 weeks running Rach and it's not really helped, I'm going on Friday as I have a voucher, £35 worth of treatment for £15. I love going but can't keep paying out. I was seeing an osteopath for months and that was £42 a week.
I was just reading about China providing alternative therapise on their equivalent of the NHS. The Emmett Technique sounds similar to what your little Chinese man did. Debbie just very gently presses on my trigger points.
My doctor is great and has referred me before without my asking. I'm just looking for anything about vit D and B12 to take and show him.
I've had an underactive thyroid for about 30 years and my last blood test came back and I got a letter from the surgery telling me to drop the 25mcg and just take the 100 and see how I feel. Well I feel very tired but I've got fibro, an underactive thyroid, I'm 60 this year and work with small people for 10 hours a day., Course I'm tired! lol
I'm writing out my list to take with me...... I'm sure there's not much wrong with my eye but it's swollen and sore and I can't wear my mascara!!! lol xxx
Can't weat mascara....I wouldn't be able to leave the house!!!!!
Hey I bought some drink yesterday, it was a soya chocolate milkshake and on the packaging it stated there was Vit D and B12 in the drink......I know you can't take a carton of milk to show your Dr!!! Just thought it was interesting....and it's not that fattening!!
You must be tired working 10 hours a day, whatever age you are with FM you are bound to be shattered.
It's definately great to take a list. i forget things otherwise.
I need to phone my Dr as I asked to be referred to a headache specialist ( didn't even know they existed until I was told)......this one is a professor in London and my bloody Dr has referred me to my local hospital.....So I will be on their case today and will try and kindly force the PCT to fund an apt in London. i want the best care, rather than the cheapest!!!......oh and I have a flipping smear today....Pants!!!! xx
** can't.... I meant to write
