Does anyone else feel as if their ovaries are going to explode? Thankfully not too often, but I get intense pain in my ovaries and feel as thought they are going to burst. i've been checked out for anything sinister and doc can find nothing wrong...

Hi Bumble,personal question but are you mid cycle and ovulating. ihad this for more years than I care to remember.

One dr told me his wife had painful ovulation.And if we feel pain more than others then it`s not improbable that we feel this.

Mine used to bring me to my knee`s quite liturealy (sic) and I was always mid cycle in fact sex was a no no as too painful.

It did happen mid cycle and my doc told me i was 'in tune' with my body and it was ovulation...however, at the ripe old age of 55 i've at last hit the menopause and haven't had a period for 3 months but it still seems to happen. Oh well, just something else to learn to live with!

I knw this is a long time after the quwstion ws asked but I'vehad a bad few weeks. Yes I get this pain, generally when I've been wearing trousers with a low waistband and sitting in an uncomfortable chair for a long time, nrmally while ut visiting. I going throo menopause so not anything to do with menstrual cycle. Pain can linger for couple of days. Hope this is helpful xx
