Hi Spikeydragon ,

Welcome to the forum :)

Have a look at our Mother site, that will give you a better insight and information on Fibromyalgia!

fmauk.org

It may well be the side effects of the meds, if you have recently started taking them!

Hope you start to feel better soon.

Soft hugs,

Elizabeth xx

hello spikeydragon from Nurse Gladys Emanuel (open all hours) I would suspect your drowsy feeling is both! I found gabpent very strong too. Hope they are taking away your pain, you will get more friendly with these in time and the drowsy will lift.. IF it doens,t back to docky quack and make him aware.

Hi there

As you have been recently diagnosed have you had a look at our mother site? You'll find lots of information about Fibro on there fmauk.org (Apologies, I've just seen that our lovely Elizabeth has already given you this website) 😊

Gabapentin is a strong medication. The drowsy feeling will wear off, but it can take a couple of weeks.

Something that many of us suffer from is something called Fibro Fog. It's when you just can't think straight, or even manage to finish a sentence as you can't remember what words you need.

Unfortunately you have the worst of both worlds at the moment, but the good thing is that the drowsy effect of the Gabapentin will wear off.

If you find after a couple of weeks that you are still feeling the same go back and see your GP. There are lots of different meds that you can try for Fibro.

It is just a matter of trial and error until you find what works for you personally.

Be kind to yourself.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi Spikeydragon

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. As your other respondents have said, it oculd be a touch of both at play here? Hopefully any side effects from the Gabapentin should wear off shortly (fingers crossed you my friend).

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
