Blue Badge Assessment : Hi there, hope... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Blue Badge Assessment

they are just following their procedures. It's different in every borough. I had to attend an appointment with an occupational health assessor. They watched me from the car park walk into the centre, walked with me to an interview room, asked a few questions and watched me leave. 10 days later the badge arrived. I wouldn't read anything too much into it, it's obviously the way they do things.

Did you qualify automatically for a blue badge due to having pip / adp? If not, then many areas have their own assessment process
Hu, I have been reading a lot about, how different councils work, on here, I think in my area I am one of the lucky ones, just need to send proof, no assessment, they just check with GP.
I hope it all goes smoothly, good luck. Xx
Mizzy11 is correct, all councils/counties work with their own agenda. I've had my BB for years as they accepted DLA, then PIP, assessments with their walking assessments. Only problem has been with my husband - he was refused (even though he can hardly walk having a Class 4 cancer and I sent in hospital medical reports). Got in touch with Macmillan who helped fill in AA form - he was approved for that within a couple of weeks. Reapplied for BB (sent in same medical reports + letter of PIP award) and council immediately awarded the BB. Think it's council madness but must be something to do with an unwritten policy as it's keeping that department busy!
where I live in Scotland you do not need any kind of assessment when you receive even the lower rate of pip mobility.
I also know a few people that donβt receive it but had a letter from there gp and got it that way.
I suppose it should be assessed or everyone who didnβt need it would get one just with an application so it seems fair enough that your having some kind of assessment.
I had a similar experience to that of Dinkie, but it was the second time I had applied, after a couple of years.
Hi mizzy, I applied through my council and had to go for a face to face assessment, which included a walking assessment, I have fibromyalgia, cf and osteoarthritis of the knees. My assessor was really nice, had knowledge of the challenges with fibromyalgia as well as osteoarthritis, I was successful and its really changed my life where my mobility is concerned. Good luckxxx
I have a blue badge and then had a face to face interview. Strange that they want to call you!
That's what I thought too Scotland49, I put everything in the application π€xx
Hi everyone, just letting you know I got my blue badge... I went on a right rant and started rambling on about how bad it is.... I was honest about everything, and i got a bit upset, but still, I should've been able to compose myself π€¦ββοΈ. Hopefully, this will make my life a bit easier, and my husband's as he's usually the driver π€, thanks everyone for texting and support, stay safe with this weather πxx
