Sweating getting worse.

I know it has been really hot and humid here for a long time now but my sweating is unbearable, drips down my back, oozes from my scalp, down my face and in my eyes, feet are awful. In the winter I suffer big time struggling to get warm. Sensitivity to lights of all kinds is getting worse and last week I got a floater in my left eye like frogspawn. Do we ever get a break? No.

Me too, sweat day and night. Last night I had the ac running and fan right next to me, and I didn’t even feel cold. It was like my cooling sensor was malfunctioning. I don’t know if it’s fibro or peri menopause or antidepressants but it’s horrible!

yes it is horrible. it doesn't take much for me to start sweating and that goes for the winter time too. can't bear going in shops as so hot. when I get cold, I get really cold and struggle to get warm. my body has no temperature regulation. xx

Every time I walk into a shop I end of drenched! It is so embarrassing lol, so I decided to do my shopping online. I sometimes still have to go into shops, but groceries I order online and then pick it up. Most days I can’t stand nor tolerate all the walking either. Especially if I am overheating. That is when my muscles hurt the most.

Bless you. in the winter when heating is on in shops, I can't bear it either, have to walk out. sweating Jake's me feel unclean, a pet hate, this intense humidity and heat has made sweating unbearable and yes embarrassing running down your body. xx

Sweating is the body's way of keeping cool and as our temperature centres in the hypothalamus seem to be affected by fibro, then I can only assume the sweating mechanism is affected too.

You can only do all the sensible things you're probably doing --- stay really well hydrated, wear cotton, keep humidity low where you can.

Drinking a hot drink can actually lower your temperature by a degree or two. Showering and leaving your skin damp to 'air dry' will also slightly lower the body temperature. Running your wrists under cold water and using a face mist kept in the fridge are another couple of things to try.

If you have an electric fan going place a plastic bottle of frozen water in front of it to lower the room temperature a little further.

The others have given some really good ideas which I can pass onto some of my family and hope it brings you some relief so it becomes mor bareable for you !! I never sweat unless I’ve got a temperature 🤒 as I am always a cold person, freezing to say the least to the point where last week I walked outside in s fluffy long dressing gown and my neighbour couldn’t believe it. I must say I love it like this but one thing is for sure I’m not looking forward to the autumn/ Winter coming 😬But I am with you on the eye issue it is really annoying and think it is time to take a trip to the opticians because it’s happening more often and my eyes are blurred a lot. Hope you are having a more fresh feel day 💐💝x

Bless you. Thankyou. blimey all these things we have to suffer with with this awful disease fibro affects us all the time in different ways no matter what time of year it is. my optician told me not to lift heavy stuff which I can't anyway and also if I get more floaty stuff than I have now or flashing lights to go straight to a and e. Please see your optician to make sure your eye is ok just for a check up. xx

Thankyou and yes it’s horrible take care and keep us updated 💝💐xx

Are you taking anything that cause sweating like anti depressants? I too have photo phobia and wear photochromic glasses even watching TV. Floaters are tiredness, to help to get rid you need to stretch your eyes, Part you top and bottom eye lids then roll your eyes in circles one way then the other, and push hard to get them into each corner, that helps to lessen them.
