I was told that if you are diagnosed with fibromyalgia but also have Sjogren's the fibromyalgia diagnosis is dropped as it it now all falls under the umbrella of Sjogren's. Is that correct?

Confused
Hi , to my knowledge the answer is no. Sjögren's syndrome and fibromyalgia are not the same, although they can share some overlapping symptoms like fatigue and widespread pain,
I presume it would depend on whether all your symptoms can be explained by having Sjogrens. If you have Fibro symptoms, of which there are so many, which aren’t related to Sjogrens then it’s possible you have both conditions. Remember Fibro is diagnosed by exception ie no other condition explains your symptoms.
It is possible to have both
I would think that that was not entirely true but it would depend on individual cases - For Example - if the clinician diagnosing the Sjogrens beleives ALL the symptoms of what was attributed to your FMS Diagnosis can be actually explained by Sjogrens then they would be right to 'remove' the FMS diagnosis as your symptoms that gave you that diagnosis can now be explained by a different condition. However, if you still hav eother symptoms of FMS of which can be explained by Sjogrens or any other condition you may already be diagnosed with then it would be fair to say you have both.
