Have you had your vitamin D levels checked recently? Low levels can give muscle pain. I find that epsom salt baths (magnesium) or you can get a magnesium spray as well, help with the pain. There are no easy fixes unfortunately and as we know fibro is different for all of us so what works for one doesn't necessarily work for someone else.
Do hope you find some relief soon.
it’s not muscle pain or spasms totally different king of pain but thank you
Have a chat to your GP if you can, I know easier said than done these days. Is it nerve pain? If so there are medications to help with that but again it's not an easy answer as it can take several attempts to find the right one or combination before any relief is found.
I have long Covid FND my body continuously hurts. However my legs are so painful to the extreme especially at night !
My Dr prescribed Pramipexole (a very low dose) after complaining of the pain for at least 3 years. It does help 😊
Also my pain clinic at Sheffield Hallam hospital loaned me a TENS MACHINE. It helped with daily pain, I bought one from Amazon only cost £30.
Hope this helps
Hi
Sounds similar to mine, it's like a constant toothache but in your legs! You're gonna hate it, they're awful, but compression socks really do help they're just a nightmare to get on and off. Raising the bottom of your mattress ever so slightly with a pillow underneath will help with the swelling while you're in bed or sleeping if you're lucky!
Stretching exercises, just a few at a time but regularly throughout the day. Like sitting in bed with legs straight, point toes away from you then bring them towards you while keeping legs straight and heel still touching the bed, wrap your dressing gown tie over toes and pull them a little more, as much as you can bare. It's painful but really effective, you'll feel the stretch right down the back of your legs. Repeat a few times.
Standing on the stairs with front of both feet at the edge facing the step, hold on to both sides and simply drop your heels down as much as you can bare, hold a few seconds. Repeat a few times.
There's loads of free exercises available online, look for ones for plantar fasciitis for ideas. Once you start it's easy to fit them in, you actually do them without even thinking. Leg lunges while waiting on the kettle boiling, making dinner etc...
When you're sitting try not to cross your legs, if you can get your feet up try getting them higher than your hips and keep a slight bend in your knee by adding a little pillow. Good shoes and diabetic socks are great for swollen legs & magnesium oil or spray helps mine too.
I also use a vibration plate, have done for years though I know a lot of people can't tolerate them I absolutely adore mine, I'm sure it keeps my leg muscles stronger.
Hope some of this helps x
🫣🤗I feel your pain!! I get it to it’s horrific and it’s not restless legs because I get that to it’s like electric shocks shooting up and down your legs!!
I mostly get this at night kind and it also stops me from sleeping and usually take an extra amitriptyline which at least gets me some sleep.
I’ve used a Tens machine hope that might help you x
hi sorry you’re suffering so badly. I use magnesium spray on my legs and feet before bed and I find this helps a lot with muscle cramp and restless legs. I have also been using a grounding sheet on my bed for the last couple of months and have found my pain on waking and throughout the day is definitely less and I actually sleep instead of pacing around the house most of the night. Hope you find something that works for you x
I use Algesal cream. Had it prescribed years ago. It does wonders. My doctor prescribed it because of the medication I was taking ( possible overdose with voltarol or ibubrofen) works wonders for me. Can be bought over the counter only £3 or so.
Hope this helps. Gentle HUgs
thank you all for your help xx
Hi I find that hot water bottles help I bought one of those long ones you can get but it's trial and error different things work for different people .
