I’ve just received my dreaded pip review form. My question is does everyone here send supporting evidence with their form. I currently receive pip and with 2 previous reviews Ive never sent any supporting evidence, pip I assume got this from my Rheummy and GP. I know my GP practice is very busy and I would dread requesting for a copy of all my medical letters, as there would be tons! Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do?
Thanks everyone 🌸

Hello thanks for replying 😊 yes I have 2-3 hospital letters from my recent review appointments with my consultant. The letters state my current medications and list all of my diagnosisis. I will defo send these off, I think as they confirm diagnosis and meds thats what pip wants to see - but maybe Im wrong, will they want more evidence (my GP could build a sky scraper with my file) 😂
Make sure you send copies, not originals, and yes, they check with your gp, if they need more information, but it would be a good idea to get as much information as you can, so yes ask your doctor for this information, and copies, I’m like you, I have manic files on me, but over the years I have kept every single letter, diagnosis and treatment, it all helps , and saves them time, as they don’t have to chase it up, hence a quicker decision.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to start digging out any letters I have put anyway somewhere! I never throw anything like that away. Defo would be easier to ask the GP for all records but I feel it maybe frowned upon i.e putting so much work on to them and maybe this negatively impacting my support from GP when PIP write to them - I could be wrong, maybe this is normal for them to print all that off at a patients request when claiming pip.
Hello.Im confused a bit about these reviews. If you have already pip why do you have to send more evidence. If you got it last time and nothing has changed shouldnt that be the same to be awarded again?
Pip is awarded to those who so many different disabilities which affect everyone differently. It is usally for a specific period in which conditions may improve or worsen. Some conditions never change...sight loss...and are awarded for much longer periods.
By reveiwung most after an intial time you can ad more evidence if needed.
Thats the shirt version of how DWP manages so many conditions!!!!!!
My GP surgery just printed out my whole medical report rather than individual pages and I sent the whole lot off! I did get a couple of extra pages printed off from my specialist /physio/ counsellor etc. as they were specific and current and I wanted them to really see that. It saves them hassling the GP for it and makes decision making easier if they don't have to go asking around for it or waiting for it to be forwarded at a later date. Good luck.
Thanks for your reply 🙂 can I ask did you put in this request to the GP in writing? Also how long did it take before the surgery printed this? My medical file I suspect is huge - I know they are going to ask me to be specific of what I need - and Im not sure should I say hospital letters or would I need everything! Also pip forms due back in 2 weeks - I only received the form last week!!
I asked the receptionist face to face and she just printed it off right there and the other letters I asked the doctor during my appointment and he found the right ones and printed them off for me. I had to phone up pip a few times to ask for an extension due to waiting for appointments and cancelled appointments, they were amazingly understanding. Just phone in plenty of time before the deadline and they can extend it if your reason is genuine.
I started off with a long list of printoffs that I needed, the receptionist took one look at it and just printed off my whole medical report! It's actually a condensed report so it'll show the dates of doctors appointments and what it was about, dates of prescriptions etc. without too much extra detail, which is why I printed off a couple of the letters about external referrals to emphasise those. I did have a follow up videocall and another quick call from the decision maker to clarify something and I don't know if they contacted the doctor or not.Citizens advice and other organisations can help you fill out forms and tell you what you need to get if you struggle with form filling like I do. I literally freeze and can't think or write and end up crying! I hope it all goes smoothly for you but do phone and get an extension if you need so they can backdate to your original claim date. Good Luck.
thanks so much for this, Im doing a written request to my gp today for all my hospital letters. I’ll also phone pip for an extension. Have a lovely Christmas x
