Hi everyone on this wet ,miserable day .Pain free sleep is not a given with arthritis and fibromyalgia but lately I feel like I'm a roast on a pit fire.I can't get comfortable in any position .My body is in agony .I have a memory foam topper but it's like I'm laying on rocks .I'm looking for advice on a new mattress and also as they are so expensive ,who do I ask for help to purchase one .Do councils help? Thanks .

Hi there, this is question that is asked often for obvious reasons. Have you tried putting the word mattress in to our search engine. This is just some replies on the topic posted recently. Hope this helps.healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

Years ago I had a problem with my mattress and its topper because it felt like sleeping on rocks. Fortunately, I found a website called "Back in Action" who also have three shops (2 near london and 1 I think near Bristol). I ordered online their Back in Action base and mattress and since then I am sleeping on their third mattress (the base has incline also now). They take off the VAT for medical reasons, including fibromyalgia. I have also visited the main shop near London and found the staff very knowledgeable. Not only do they sell beds but other furniture relating to people with bad backs and chronic pain. Take care:)

I agree I recently went too mattress/bed shop and some mattresses where more expensive than the actually bed🤣. I did try a few as when you lay and they are like 4 inches thick there was no support at all , some places like benson beds etc currently have sales on, i ended up with a Silent night one and mattress toppers are an excellent idea, I have also tried putting a Summer quilt on the actual mattress 1st them either your topper or mattress proctector before I make my bed up. Just an idea . They did charge for delivery and an amount for taking the old one away which was good. I hope you eventually find a suitable one and one that suits your budget, they do say too replace mattresses around 10 years I’ve read , mine was 7 years old , having the new one on I can feel the difference for support , I am getting ready for hibernation 😜with the weather changing now xx ps Fibro and Arthritis is no joke 🙁some of us here know the feeling of that combination 🙁
