Major flareup

I've had fibro for over10 years and for the past year have got the hang of pacing, accepting my limitations, varying medication and trying to be kind to myself. In those 10 years I lost my younger brother to sepsis, he was 47, my best girl to cancer she was 31 and my Mum to covid she was 87. 10 days ago I lost my dog and I have fallen to pieces both physically and mentally which I can't do as our daughter and 2 small grandchildren live with us. We have had dogs for over 45 years and have lost many but none have hit me like this. How can I get back to my normality I can't be like this .

I am sorry to read of your losses. So many important figures in your life leaving you in such a short time. Of course you are going to be sad. It is our natural human process of grief. It hits us both mentally and physically. Be kind to you. Allow yourself this time of sadness. Grief hits us all in a number of ways and how it affects us differs each time. No form of grief is wrong.

It is so lovely that you have your daughter and grandchildren around. When I lost someone dear to me, my young children helped me in more ways than they knew at the time. In the following days and weeks, just by being themselves.

Take a deep breath and take one day at a time.

Wishing you well in your journey.
