arm ache: does any one else getting... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
arm ache
Hi dolphin21
Yes I do , I currently have this in both arms . Wish I could offer some advice but I’m struggling with this too .
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last October , so I’m in the early stages or what works and what doesn’t ., although heat seems to be the only thing to give some relief . 🥲
Hope you find something asap that helps , take care
My general rule is not to blame fibromyalgia until other possible causes are ruled out. This type of pain can have numerous causes for example osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. Nerve damage and a soft tissue injury. It's fairly common in fibromyalgia both my wife and I suffer from it. However the cause is uncertain in our case due to having differing types of arthritis. My advice would be to speak with your GP to rule out other causes.
Morning, I find that if I use my arms lifting up, like hanging out the washing, I have to stop half way because the muscles ache at the top of my arms, and feel really pressured and I have to rest, before I start again, so I know how you feel x
That really brought back memories! Most of the time I don't get that now unless it is particularly heavy like a wet duvet cover, but the general dull pressure ache I get a lot of the time and especially at the moment as the weather is changeable and I'm just getting over a virus so immune system a bit hyperreactive. Best wishes
The wonderful world of fibromyalgia 🙄🙄x
Yes, this has been a persistent one at generally low-moderate level since childhood, with occasional peaks (like now!) My upper legs do it too. Much of my fibro pain is concentrated on the outer facing extremities - sides of arms, legs, body. I found this interesting (although it is not unbiased) verywellhealth.com/new-path... If some of us might have 'extra' nerves, and have small fibre neuropathy affecting nerves (as I do) the pain and temperature dysreguation makes a bit more sense. But I still feel that optimising nutrient levels is foundational, so that the body has the best chance of healing what it can and functioning to the best of its ability, then see what remains by way of symptoms. That continues to be my plan, anyway! Best wishes
Hi i can sympathise with you my arms and legs are so painful trying to sleep is a nightmare i wouldnt wish this fibro on anyone
I use a magnesium spray at night and it does help me sleep - reduces the pain and makes me drowsy. Fibro is considered by some to be partly due to variations in function of an enzyme called COMT (with slower (met or met/met) predisposing to higher pain levels especially under stress). I found magesium really helpful. Later I did some testing and found that I have slow COMT SNP predisposition and then found that COMT is magnesium dependant.
