Does anyone else have these symptoms. Its been line this for 4 days and I only feel better if I rest my head on a pillow or the setee! Do I need to increase Pregabalin? I have the scope to (as my GP says) If others have this too then I know its probably FM and will increase. If not co-codamol frequently should do the trick!
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, yes this sounds all to familiar. Hangover without the drink. I use co-codamol but to be honest it usually last for days on end and I feel that I need to support my head. Makes me feel sick and really the only way through it is if you can rest. I'm having the same symptoms at the minute just coming out of it really. All I want is quiet and sleep can't even be bothered with conversation. I have tried other drugs but they don't seem to have any long term beneficial help. Work for a little while then its like the fibro cracks the code and is back with avengence. My advice try anything at least if you get some relief it will help.
i used to suffer terrible neck ache and my old gp didnt prescribe me any drugs but told me to tie my dressing gown cord around the middle of my pillow and sleep with my head in the dip , lol didnt help a jot bless him
Hi have really bad neck pain and heavy feeling on and off, I too need to support with my arms and hands but that then makes my pins and needles worse, so i cant win lol.
I get it when i cant be botherd to speak too, i actually think its when my fatigued is really bad that it is worse.
I wake up every morning with really bad neck pain,my face swollen and red on the same side, I also feel as though I have something in my throat and my eye is stinging.. But, as the day wears on the pain eases and the best time of day is before I go to bed. I tell myself that if it was really something sinister it would not wear off. The pain also goes to the top of my head. Have been diagnosed with Cervical Spondylitis a few years ago. Everytime I go to the doctors they put everything down to my Fibro. Just dont know what to do. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
When I was first ill I couldn't move my head in any direction and could walk only a few yards. My G.P thought it was polymyalgia but blood tests didn't show positive although only 70-80% of cases give a positive result. since then (14yrs ago)I have always had a stiff neck and most of the time with quite a lot of pain as well. I still wonder about polymyalgia but my current G.P. won't do another blood test, I am dismissed as that imaginary illnes called fibromyalgia !
It took a trainee doctor to even send me to the pain clinic. Just as well I have a placid easy-going nature.
Hi. I suffer from headaches that last for days too. Mine are also from pain and tension in my neck and shoulder muscles. As well as going to bed, I find a hot flannel over my head, anti-inflammatory gel massaged into the painful muscles, pain killers and anti-inflammatory tablets all help. The pain can ease off for a while but soon comes back with a vengeance if I don't keep on top of it. I also suffer from Vertigo intermittently, which doesn't help!
I used to go to an Osteopath on a regular basis, which really helped, but it soon became too expensive after I stopped working.
I've just got an appointment through the post for physiotherapy, which having exhausted all forms of treatment prior to my diagnosis of Fibro, I'm hoping will go some way to helping my various symptoms, now that they have a Fibro management program in place.
I hope some of my suggestions are helpful to you. Let me know how you get on.
I would be interested to know if anyone else also suffers from Flu-like symptoms with their Fibro? I usually suffer worse first thing when I get up (I can't say first thing in the morning, because I don't always make it out of bed before lunchtime!). I also frequently wake with swollen and puffy eyes. My eyes can take many hours to calm down but the Flu-like symptoms will clear within a few hours, especially after taking my usual cocktail of tablets when I first get up.
I have always got flu like symptoms when i get a flare up. Thats how i know onw starts.
When i get plenty of rest and sleep and organised and remember to take tablets on time, i feel so much better. But on a weekend when i have the kids at home and having lie ins and just ligging about a feel really ill and flu like.
I feel like crap in mornings, get bit better in the afternoon and then tea time comes and i feel crap again and count down the hours when i go to bed.
So usually when i start a flare up is my worst time.
I have neck pain its like some one pressing on the side of my neck just behind my ears, also the flu like symptoms and my eyes can not focus first thing in the morning also bad headaches
