LDN journey.

Well, after making enquiries here, reading what I could and talking to my GP I had my Dicksons Chemist appointment this morning at a cost of £50. They rang half an hour late and as the conversation went on they said - Oh, if we had known you were on Co-codamol (Zapane) we would not talked to you about LDN as the two are not compatible. Well, they had a list of past and repeat prescriptions from me and I’ve taken Co-Codamol for 40 years, so it was just a case of not reading the documentation sent to them.

A waste of £50 and I don’t know where to go next. Sometimes I just wish I would not wake up one morning; it’s been 40 years of punishment.

We do need someone too listen and at least try point us in the right direction for our mental health &wellbeing , I just wanted too reply and know someone gets how things can be on a daily basis.

Afternoon Onceabiker, I'm confused??? Why are you paying a Chemist 50 pounds?

I know I'm out of touch and don't get out especially if there are other peeps about, This is in the UK?

Could the doc not see you? What does the money pay for? I'm confused, (easy done these days) 40 YEARS????? Oh my goodness!!!! No wonder you feel like you do, You are not on your own, I have often hoped I won't wake up one morning, Then I see my Hubby, and I think, What a selfish sh... I would be to leave him to have to cope without me here,we are all here for a reason, We may not know why just yet and feel life has given us too many lemons and not nearly enough sugar to make lemonade,

I take a day at a time and try to have the best day as I can

I hope you find some calm peaceful time

Take care Debs

Thanks for the reply Debs, I was run over by a car just before my 24th birthday and I will be 64 in May. I had multiple injuries, elongated hospital stays and on the waiting list for my 15th operation.

Four left hips, spine fusion, arthritis removal from right ankle, right ACL, three spine ops including removal of my L4 vertebra and fusion of the bones with instrumentation. Right knee next!

I’ve had a lot of mental pain having had my youth and health ripped away from me by a bad driver when I was 24, but Fybromyalgia came along in 2019. I’ve written on here that my wife is distant and I get little sympathy there. My back could do with a rub and then a cuddle from time to time but it doesn’t happen. We don’t share a bed anymore. My kids are at GCSE/A Level stage and once they move on with their lives we will see what happens then.

To answer your question, LDN is only available on a private prescription not NHS, so the consultation with the pharmacist has to be paid for privately.

Best wishes. x

Bloody hell Onceabiker,

You have been busy! The only time Iv'e stayed in hospital was 2020, that was not a good time, It turns out I have approx 15 gall stones when I had the scan,

No surgery until I get some of this blooming weight off and find out more what's going on with my lungs, Never gone in over with Fibro though, So I'm plodding my way along and hoping things don't get too crazy,

Your wife may just be worried about the future and what that entails, Things do seem easier if you have someone to love and support you on your medical journey,

I used to self love (No not that lol) when I was a kid, too much went on at home and I was taught to give myself a hug (bare with me) Just put your arms around yourself whilst you stand with your back on a wall, I added to the exercise, I added my pillow on my front,

I know it sounds a bit hockem pokem and really sad, but it's really up to you how you do it or don't. I still do it and I have the most loving suportive Hubby ever😃 I hope you don't have to wait too long for your surgery,

Take care

Debs
