Does anyone else use wrist supports? Do they help?
I have never tried them but rather than wrist splints..especially those with metal in them which make carrying anything awkward, have a look at elastic wrist supports….they are a firm elastic bandage with a hole to put your thumb through…I have seen them on Amazon.
Hi, I use carpel tunnel wrist bands at night time as I wake up to pins and needles and paralysis in my arms and hands sometimes. I also wear gloves when the weather is bad, mainly when I'm out and about .I bought them online, there meant to help with arthritis and joint pain. Not sure about the name of them.
I used to work as a waitress but had to stop doing that, as I actually dropped the tray full of plates and cups once. I just kind of lost power in my arms. Even if you can try find some exercises to kind of strengthen up the shoulder and wrist.
Hope you get some relief

Hi Pinklover89, it might be worth asking for an occupational health referral - either at work or from GP. Occupational therapists are great at helping work out what would be the best thing for your particular difficulty. Good luck finding something that suits you.
Having had bi-lateral Carpal Tunnel releases twice I have worn wrist splints for the last 30 years, I cannot say how much good they may or may not do but I much prefer to have them on than not. Having used various types of support over the years I think the ones with metal bars in are better for me than the ones without but that is a personal matter. I hope that this helps.
The ones with metal in work best for me. They really help to give my wrists a rest and some support when they are painful. Might get in the way of carrying trays though because they kind of restrict movement.
