hi everyone

Lately I noticed that I have pain on the tail of my spine, sitting, standing, walking, laying down nothing helps me and is increasing every day, is a nightmare for me and I have to call my GP for an appointment, I think that they had enough of me already….l have so many health problems that I don’t know how to manage them anymore, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, depression and many other..I am full of medications, is so painful that I feel like getting crazy and on top of that I had to stop working because I couldn’t cope anymore..

My question is if any of you is dealing with the tail spine pain and if is any trick to help me out

Thank you 🙏

Have you ever had your neck Xrayed or had an MRI. Damaged or trapped nerves in the neck cause pain in the most unlikely places!

Hello Alice, I understand your pain and have had the same problem over the years. The only thing that worked for me was to sit on a rudder ring or lots of soft cushions to support me because at times I felt I was sitting on my bones. Painkillers didn't work at all. I research the condition and started Gentle exercise which at the start was so painful 😫 but I carried on and the results are its now gone. Don't worry about your GP and your feelings you are a Nuisance to them because they will not see it that way . They are there to support you and listen to help you get through this part of your illness.

Ask your GP to be put forward to the pain clinic course and other courses available living with long term pain. I have attended these courses and they are fantastic everything takes time to get better and moving forward for you to have a more positive outcome. Push your GP to understand you want anything he can offer without just adding more painkillers. Some of the self help out there will help you in many ways.

You are already so strong living with these pain levels. The other bonus is that you meet others who will share there tips about living with Multiple conditions and it does help to stop you from isolating youself in your mind.

All pain can make you feel a different person take a step back and get help because your worth it. Your body is sending you messages it needs help.

Stay strong you are already a very brave lady . Big hugs and take care 🙂

hello,

I know exactly what you mean I suffer from it myself. I had to go to the doctor- there are things you can do to help the pain but if the pain hasn’t gone away and you have been suffering for awhile then please see your doctor. You are going through enough without having more pain -sending you a big hug.

There are coccyx cushions you can purchase to sit on to take the pressure off your tailbone. Sit or lying to you side takes some pressure off your tailbone also if you can or are allowed to use Ibuprofen gel on the area that may also help I get this from my doctor.

But your doctor will decide whats the best course of action to take I’m sure . Thinking of you , take care ❤️

Hello, I agree I know sometimes we think we are bothering our surgeries but properly an X-ray would be good too get a piece of mind and rule anything out, it’s not nice when we get a mixture of conditions too cope with and depression comes with this , we are only human and sometimes it can pull us down but we seem too prod on each day but always help for help as it’s the doctors job too have a duty of care. I do tend too have a hot water bottle on the go , I fractured slightly is it a vertebrae lower back. I didn’t know till I was sent for an X-ray for something else and this is how I found out, think there s a weakness there now ,cold weather aggregates and any excessive bending . I hope you get seen very soon , let us know how you get along .take care

I had this a couple of years ago. Tried the egg cushion which worked for a while but got more uncomfortable after a while. What worked for me, not a cheap option, was to replace my sofa with a softer one. I have been fine since then.

have one er considered gentle spinal manipulation? I go to a McTimoney trained chiropractor ( infact two over the decades) ..they have lessened my frozen shoulder, stiff hips, carpel tunnel and tail-bone pains, and worse ( faints) and keep me going long after NHS gave up on me!

Hi Alice2004I have had severe pain in my coccyx to the point that I could not sit down and would cry from the pain. Paracetamol did not work and my doctor did nothing apart from suggesting taking paracetamol. In the end, in desperation, I visited a chiropractor and had several visits for treatment. Finally the chiropractor used acupuncture which was like a miracle - I felt everything in that area relax. I don't if this will help you as acupuncture does not work for everyone and visiting a chiropractor is expensive.

I get a lot of pelvic and lower spine pain and my GP said it was common with fibro and also can create the rush to the loo feeling too. However worth mentioning to your GP too 🥰

I had severe pain in lower part of my back and it got so bad that I went to A & E - they did an MRI and I was diagnosed with 4 bulging discs - Ive had body pain since around 2005 and got diagnosed with Fibro in 2019 and I dont exercise because of pain - no idea how I got bulging discs!

Hey Alice2004,

I have a lot of things as you and many others on here, It's why we are here,

Before I was diagnosed with Fibro and other things, The hospital would call me in about once a month and drain my cfs fluid from my spine, I had far to much, They do this with a very big needle, into my spine, lumber puncture, The docs/consultants would end up doing it with xrays, Or I would say they can't do it,

I'm going back 25/30 years back, I was always getting jabs in the wrong places that would either make my legs twitch (not good idea with a big needle in you) Or for whatever reason I'd get gas quite bad, not the burpy end either!

I was told it wouldn't effect me, Grrr, I think it was approx a year in all before they starting talking about a shunt, Not on your Nelly thank you, Then about 10 yrs ago I had an accident at work (carer)

I couldn't stand ,sit or lie down, When I wake up in the mornings I do a mental check on what pain in what area and sometimes I have to scream for my Hubby to help me and the only way I can move is doing the caterpilla with my toes and screaming with each and every movement, It" not a great life, But It's my life and I just have to make do with what Iv'e got,

I try so hard not to be a burden for my Hubby when I'm having a good day I can potter around as long as I'm not getting silly like moving furniture around or doing the Cha Cha,

I end up in my wheel chair or take the stair lift straight back to bed, I make sure there is a seat nearby downstairs and usually I can do about 5mins then rest for 20, Which is a lot better than before, We all find our limit and If we push beyond that point?

Lets just say,Don't push too hard,You must look after your inner as well as your outer,

Take care
