Does anyone have horrendous pain in the ball of their feet and sometimes in toes. Sometimes on one or the other and sometimes on both? It’s affecting me walking :(

I have pain across the entire of my feet, I know it’s called something beginning with a p, but for love nor money can I think of the name, but I have to wear wedge flip flops, to take the pain away, if I try to walk without them, it’s like I’m walking on bone, its excruciating.

absolutely it really feels like there is no padding at all. I wonder if it’s fibromyalgia or perimenopause.

Aha, I just had a brain surge 😂 planta phascu something or other, I don’t know if it’s fm related, menopause, not in my case, as yet, I have had it a long time, and lots on hear speak about it, it’s starting in my hands too, although I have noticed this a while back, it seemed to go in my hands, but it’s back, so I use a hot wax bath for hands and feet, it helps to ease it.

Plantar fasciitis is what you were looking for.

I don’t think menopause is helping any of my symptoms.

I get pain in my feet and shooting pains in my toes but when I wake in the morning my hands are clawed and my fingers feel like sausages even though they’re not swollen. It takes ages for them to wake up.

Get checked out for RA if not already.

yes I do get painful feet all the time especially at night because we’re not using them as much. I had plantar gasps few years ago and I had both of mine operated on but this pain is on both sides of my feet and in my toes and it’s agony! The rheumatologist things it’s my psoriatic arthritis rather than fibro but there nothing they can do. The special socks you see advertised on the phone with no toes are actually quite helpful.

it’s called plantar fasciitis, get some insoles for P F, you can also get massage rollers for it. Very very painful. I had some insoles made at the hospital. Takes a while to go but it does go eventually.

You may have Morton’s Neuroma, which is an inflammation of a nerve going to the toes. I’ve been diagnosed with this in the past and it’s can be so painful. I was advised by doctor to wear soft shoes and referred to consultant. Medical options include steroid injections or operation to remove the nerve.

Do you have any arthritis in your feet? I’m having a lot of foot pain at the moment. I know it must be arthritis because some of my joints are very sore to touch. I read about walking barefoot as much as possible and only wearing stiff soled shoes. I usually wear Crocs around the house which I read are not good if you have arthritis. It’s only been a couple of days but it’s not made my pain worse at least. I don’t know if that would help you but naturally we are designed to walk barefoot so it makes sense.

yes I get a burning sensation in end of my toes and sharp pain in them when I walk just having some insoles made for my shoes to see if it helps my pain management sent me to see if it can help went in December still waiting I can’t walk far then it’s starts like having frost bit so pain full so I no what you are going through sometimes I find it easier to were a flip flop but no good in winter they say it’s to do with nerves that run from bottem of your back down legs into you r feet 👣 if that makes any sense hope this info is any use to you xx

Yes, turns out I had a blocked artery in my thigh. Be sure to see your gp. It could be something simple, but always best to get checked.

Hope you don't mind me asking, was your skin affected with this?

I have psoriasis, I have Epsom salt foot spas twice weekly so my skin is soft on my feet.

Hi Merc19,

Yes I do and it’s very painful so I sympathise with you. I get shooting pains in my toes because of the fibromyalgia and the balls of my feet especially when I change footwear. My arches have also dropped which means I have had to go from a size 4 shoe to a size 5. When you walk do you put most of the pressure on the front part of your foot or your back, do you walk heel to toe? you’ll be able to tell by looking at the sole of your shoes, the heel will either be down on one side of the shoe or worn more at the front part, hope this helps ☺️

Hi I too get this, and it does feel like every bone in your feet is broken😪I also have Plantar Faciitis, the pain is crippling. I had the steroid injections in heels too, which is horrendously painful(just as bad as shattering my shoulder in an rta!)it didn't work for me! However I did buy expensive gel insoles for the footwear I use most which helped a little. I go bare foot at home, if I stand too much, walk too much, it comes back with a vengeance an hour or so later. I wish there was a complete cure for it.

Try foot massage, heat pads, gel insoles anything you can to provide relief for this awful condition.

Good Luck X

Hi

I have just joined the online community, and yes I have developed a pretty awful pain in my left foot. Actually most of my pain is in my left side. More of a dull ache on my right side. This pain is worse when I have been on my feet all day and I am sitting or lying in bed . After work my foot alternates between throbbing and really bad shooting pain. I haven’t discovered what helps to ease the pain, but I have tried soaking my feet in warm water with a scoop of Epsom salts.

I have pain in my heels that bad I can hardly walk. It feels like I'm walking on the points of nails or needles! It comes and goes, so I know it has something to do with my fibro. I Also get a pain along the side of my hand from my wrist to my little finger. Thought at first I'd bruised it badly but couldn't remember banging it or anything. Now I realise it's the fibro as I've had it a few times. It comes and goes, like my heel pain. This fibro has a lot to answer for! I find new things it's doing all the time! 😢

I have had this pain in the ball of my right foot since Monday. Its so painful to walk that it's causing me to limp. I googled and it seems like it's called metatarsalgia. The description was spot on re my pain.

My toes feel like someone poured sulfuric acid on them. I got a small acid burn in chemistry class, and yup, that's it. Sometimes more of my feet are involved, sometimes less, but always my toes. I've been to all kinds of doctors and none of them know what it is.

Pain in your feet can be bad enough to be disabling. I can barely stand on bad days.
