Hi guys. I haven’t been officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but am feeling pretty certain that’s what it is. I have back pain that worsens the longer I stay in one position. Terrible on a morning! Occasional neck pain, elbow, wrist and shoulder pain that comes and goes; chronic insomnia; restless leg syndrome; ibs; hyperhydrosis; cold hands; extreme sensitivity to pain; constantly pulling muscles and occasional fatigue. Apart from all that I’m fine! 😂
I know you can’t diagnose and I’m not asking you to; I’m just wondering how many other people have similar symptoms? Many thanks

Hi - A diagnosis from a Rheumatologist would be good to rule out other conditions - Poor sleep and Fatigue are the trademark of Fibromyalgia- Along with widespread pain - My first symptom was instant pain in left shoulder blade like I had been stabbed or an electric shock -It spread the body within the next year and thats when the fatigue and feeling uwell started to unfold also - I have been sufferinh since 1994 - Keep on going friend
Hi Badgerbob7Yes best to get a formal diagnosis, fibro is a complex set of symptoms. Some are also signs of other conditions. Even with a diagnosis it is best to check out new symptoms. Yes I have similar symptoms. I also have autoimmune issues and Sjogrens.
Come here to say that back pain symptom was my symptom that bothered me the most. Duloxetine in the morning has almost cured it (but only after the early drama around it totally preventing sleeping for a few weeks and it doing anything for the pain). I was advised to go to a private Rheumatologist as the waiting list was 18months long - best £200 I ever spent as it helped me understand I was not going to be able to continue with my then job. IBS I also have - that and osteo arthritis from also undiagnosed hypermobilty.
I wonder how many of us fibro warriors have underlined hyper mobility, the rheumatologist advised this is why I suffer from terrible stiffness in joints due to hypermotility. I always used to joke saying I belonged in the circus when I was younger as my joints dislocate I was not diagnosed with hyper mobility until this year I'm almost 50 xx gentle hugs to all xx
I’m another dancer, ballet in my case. I was diagnosed with “likely to be” fibromyalgia earlier this year after it came on very suddenly last autumn (I woke up one morning and found movement- any movement - really hurt). I still do ballet (Silver Swans - I’m in my early sixties) though I often have less energy in class than I did before the pain hit. It’s important I keep it going. I have Hypermobility issues so I need to maintain muscle strength to help support my joints. I do find that exercise helps (I did a lot of walking in the summer in the warmer months as well) even if I sometimes have to push through the initial stiffness pain at times. .
Most fibro sufferers have these symptoms. Write as a list and take to your gp. Tell them your suspicions. Blood tests should rule out other conditions to help your gp determine what is wrong. Not all Rheumatologists will work with fibro these days.
