I saw my orthopaedic consultant yesterday about my increasing lack of mobility and intensified chronic pain in my knees. I have both osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.
He is referring me to another specialist with a view to nerve block injections on my knees and wants me to also use lidocaine patches.
My question to all of you helpful lovely people is have any of you experienced both of these treatments and were they effective in reducing pain levels?
I look forward to your kind and helpful responses.

I've had 2 disks removed from my neck and trapped L4/L5s1
I have constant ciatica and numb and pain in the lower back and buttocks with nerve damage on the left side of my leg.
I take the lidocaine patches and they are brilliant for me anyway. I half them and stick one on the left buttock and one on the right and they are amazing. Pain goes and I can at least sit down for a while.
The injections never worked for me, they injected into the l4/l5 area but nothing. I sometime use a very hot chillie cream on the lower back and it really helps.
