Hello, is there anyone who can help me fill in UC50 form who specializes in Fibromyalgia? My brain is so foggy, tinnitus and just so tired I just can’t do it. I have till 9/11/23 to return it. This is making my anxiety even worse

Hello, If you have a local Citizens Advice Bureau, or failing that, an advice centre would help fill in your form. There is also, Mental Health & Money Advice website.

Citizens advice, local authority welfare rights or local disability organisation can often help with completing forms

Our benefits team canv also send you guidelines on completing them

There's no correct way to fill in a UC50 form other than describing the difficulties you may face, & disregarding any diagnoses.

Try & do a little at a time, & say if you can't do any of the descriptors 'reliably,' ie. safely, to an acceptable standard, repeat as often as would be thought acceptable, or if it takes you longer than someone who doesn't have your disability, & are there any consequences in attempting/doing any activity? You should also mention any variability in your ability to do any of the descriptors, as any fluctuating condition such as fibro should be taken into account.

All the links above are helpful, but would suggest looking here as to where you might get local advice: advicelocal.uk/ a Welfare Rights Office may be able to help (as well as other organisations)

You do have some time, so try not to stress. Please be aware that your own account of how your disability affects you is the most important. Please see the different descriptors here, i.e. LCW descriptors: benefitsandwork.co.uk/unive... you need at least 15 points for this

LCWRA descriptors here: benefitsandwork.co.uk/unive... you only need to satisfy one of these.

The site below was a God send for me, got my PIP and LCWRA on first attempt by following their guidelines. I suffer terribly with brain fog so did my forms in stages for short periods as they was too overwhelming for me . Good luck

Ur Council should have welfare rights officers who do this sort of thing & should be able to help U.

Hi, I felt the same when I did mine and I am an OT but to do it on myself was so hard. So in the end I had help from citizens advice who completed it for me by asking questions over the phone. Just give them a call as it was so much easier.

Take care M

If you can get through to the DWP on the phone, it may be worth explaining how you need more time to fill it in because of your condition and ask for an extension of time.I am not sure what the rules are now, but they did grant a two week extension for this in the recent past.

Make sure you get the name of the person you speak to though and note it down with the time and date you spoke to them. That way you have proof that the extension was agreed.

Good luck 🍀

Hi Julie, AgeUK filled out my form and sent it off for me. They were great and my application was successful on the second attempt. I haven't been able to find out their age limits for help, so give them a try even if you are under 50yr. Good luck.

Thank you, did you have to go see them face to face ? That’s what I’m wanting. I think it’s easier face to face than over the phone
