What now!?

It just keeps getting harder and harder

Two weeks ago I had an appointment with pre-op to make sure everything is ready for my dental surgery soon, (only been waiting for four years,)

All health questions answered and I thought we're on a roll,Tell her we were still waiting on results for a sleep apnea result and not heard anything back,(last November) No news is good news?Grrrrr apparently I do have it just not had results, nothing sent to my GP, So now what?

I would have thought this would be important and all NHS would be accessable to all of their different departments? I really don't know what to do next, So I would presume I need more medicine or other intervention? I'm so very tired,

The surgery is to remove the last two teeth and all other roots from all over, We discovered no matter how much anestetic (sorry can't spell) I have whilst awake the pain is just too much to bare, I know when I wake up I will still be getting the same pain but I wont be trying to get off the table and do a runner,( okay top speed on my power chair) I hope not anyway, I now can't taste any food which is really annoying and not helping at all,

I can't believe how down and unwell I've been this past couple of months, I have had many years of this crappy illness and every once and a while it just raises it's ugly head up andd I don't have th strength to keep it away

I presume if it is sleep apnea you will be given a CPAP machine to use at night. It's like an oxygen mask, as far as I know you don't get meds for sleep apnea. Using the machine should improve your sleep quality so you might feel a lot better for it. My dad and oldest friend both use one. My dad said he feels much better now and can finally not fall asleep everytime he sits down to watch TV etc which is nice for my mum too. I know it's far from ideal but it might be good for you and make you feel less tired.Hope your dentist appointment goes well!

Thankyou for your reply, I'm going on the NHS site later see if there's anything I can do for myself to make things easier for myself, No more meds then? Relief.

I could do with some better sleep that's for sure

It's an annoying bit of kit, but if you have been deprived of oxygen at night for years it could make a big difference to how you feel during the day. Make sure if you are allergic to latex or some plastic to tell them, My friend got a rash around the mask area so they gave her a different type.

sounds like something I'd get used to after a while,I'd rather that than not breathing🤕😔. Needs must

I have been using a CPAP machine since 2008. Took a while to accept joining the 'nose hose' brigade but but it's worth it to keep breathing through the night. Contact your GP about a referral to your NHS sleep clinic who will supply the machine and service it. You might need to try a couple of masks to find the one which suits you best.

Bless you Deb. It's so hard sometimes. I'm sorry you are having to wait all that time for the dental surgery you need. I hope you get it sorted out soon. Sending you a big hug and lots of love xx

Thank you for your advice and replies everyone, I was supposed to have my next appointment with the anaesthetist on 16th, Now they've moved it back to 30th October, I'm really considering asking to just for sedation instead of general?

I really can't stand the pain and misery, I'm stocked up with liquid paracetamol and oxo cubes to sip, I really don't know what to do for the best 😪
